I often try and make a telly thread but they never get anywhere. I spend way too much time watching the box but sometimes it's really worth it. I'm into allsorts, from documentaries via series to popular comedy sitcoms. I could make an enormous list but would rather know what you like and what you're currently into. Don't be shy, i'm not here to judge! I'm sure we all have stuff we like to watch but feel maybe a tad ashamed about. :) |

I get the impression you're a Brit. UK TV is generally pretty good esp comedy and documentaries Sherlock is sweet but I've not seen the newest episodes yet. I always imagine Cumberbatch would have played an amazing Dr Who if he did it in the style of Sherlock yo. More in touch with the older doctors, without all the love-interest woo |

pretty much, the sopranos changed fings, the wire max it out, now we're drowning in pretentious intellectual HBO dramas and the only relief is the unabashed vapidity of realty tv. sopranos and the wire are still worth a watch, though. |

TV sucks sh*te apart from watching newswipe/HIGNFY. I spend all the time watching BBC4 since BBC2 went down the tubes. OHH and Ice road truckers on channel 5. Way cool you just admit no? |

Mark Gatiss and Stephen Moffat (who co-created and write for Sherlock) also work on Dr Who. The BBC has done well lately with tv series. I thought Luther was pretty great. On the subject of Mark Gatiss, I recommend the League of Gentlemen. Dexter disappointed me after a while. The first series really gave me a chill but by series 8 i was fed up. I still watched it all and i can't say i didn't enjoy myself. I thought the ending was rubbish. It has like 4 endings in a row. They should have stopped with (spoiler comin' up) him on his boat going towards the storm. (Shut up, cunt!) The Sopranos definitely opened things up. BBC4 is great. (BBC3 is pretty crap) Ice Road Truckers? I watched it once, it was alright. I couldn't watch it again. |

I finished Dexter the other night. It was really crap the last series. |

And the final scene really showed what had started as a decent show became something too big for it's own boots and out to please a mass audience. Oh well. I really felt they took me for an idiot. |

Yes, it was more fun when you didn't know how to feel about him because he was born that way and you could sort of come around to his way of thinking. The last series was just everyone saying "the code" every few words and over explaining what everyone was feeling. |

I really want to throw away my telly because it's absorbing all my time, I watch to much garbage and there are so much shitty programs on that it's just a freaking waste of time. Once I had the rule to not watch more then one hour a day, that worked pretty good for three weeks but when my girlfriend is at home and I've worked all day I just can't get out of my chair to do something with my life and not watch the telly, I hate that machine. |
