I also thought of something.
The town Sault Ste. Marie includes an abbreviation that is 3/5 as long as the other words in the town's name. "Sainte" is only 1 letter longer than either Sault or Marie, so does it really need to be abbreviated? We should call the town Slt. Sainte Marie, or Sault Sainte Mre.
Or just Slt. Ste. Mre.
Or something.
