You see there was a tradition up in the Middlesborough area, always was rated the highest beer-drinking community in all the British Isles. The beer drunk up there was always of a higher gravity than anywhere else in the country, as a matter of fact they used to classify the beer... Edith, we put up with queueing, we put up with rationing, we put up with the bombing because we were having it up there! But we would not put up with any interference in our beer, now if you want to avoid trouble you better stay sober, it's high-gravity beer. And they did, and they did! |
