I don't like advocating wiki things as a source of truth but it does explain a bit about his motivations behind Some people might like it aesthetically and some might just like a different take on things. Autobahn by Kraftwerk was number 1 in the US charts and was inspired by atonal sonics driving in a car. Music doesn't have to be Doh, Rey, Me, etc. Admittedly, Karl was taking the piss a bit on that project as it was really expensive to perform and he was getting his own back on the conservative clowns that commission art projects in his city. |
