So what do you all make of their new track with David
Byrne?

offline JivverDicker from my house on 2002-04-15 12:42 [#00175266]

It's a nice track as pop trance crap goes. It's definately
not 'fresh' but David Byrnes harmonies are allways cool.
It's a nice pop tune.

Its nowhere near 'trance pop'. Yeah it has pop sensibilities
but what's wrong with that?

It's pretty cool...

Just wish all the newspaper would stop all this "You'll
never guess what David Byrne has done now" articles...think
I've read about 10 of em so far; I always like to read how
middle-aged journalists try to act all trendy when talking
about club music....you know "getting down with the kids"
and all that...

I hear you Jand. I fucking hate music journalists.

I must say that in parts he does sound like Neil Tennant on
West end Girls.

I didn't say pop sensibilities are crap............So it's
not 'Pop trance' does it matter that much? what pedantic
sub-genre have you got it filed under?

You know what I mean anyway.

I like the harmonies whether they are pop or otherwise, the
track is a general prog house track that would fit in, but
not stand out in the past 10 years.

Ha, ha. I like the way people on this MB don't want to be
seen as liking commercial/overground music. Hence the "its
crap but I like it" kind of response.

Do you have reading problems jonesy? You can get help with
that from your local council.

It's popular, 'pop', it's trancey as in the UK trance
version of 'trance' and it's crap because it's more of the
same from the boring UK DJ old boy network.

Ask your mum to help you with this one 8)

Yeah as a matter of fact I'm dyslexic, not that it matters.
I can still work out people's opinions.

I was referring to your attitude to music. You stated your
opinion only after you pigeon-holed the track, incorrectly I
might add. But then us 'IDM' fans don't go in for that sort
of thing do we?

Woooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!

Obviousley you can't work out other people's opinions as
you've completely misunderstood.

I explained why I chose that pigeon hole as it fits.

I'm noy saying this my opinion and everyone has a right yo
their own indiviual opinions etc blah blah.

You are pedantic and wrong, I good looking and I'm right!

Ooooo Jonesy, give us a kiss.

Does anyone remember when there was a fight at school, and
somehow the entire school would gather around the 2
partipants and shout "Fight, Fight, Fight", thereby ensuring
it would be broken up more or less immediately....

How fucking thick are kids?...(ps thats a rhetorical
question, I work with em and know EXACTLY how tick they
are...)..

offline JivverDicker from my house on 2002-04-15 13:27 [#00175322]

My favourite when someone fell over and everyone shout's
"PILE ON!" or when the grass was freshly cut and there were
big grass fight wars.

yeah, I think we used to call that "Bundle"...like one
person attacks another, gets em on the ground, shouts
"BUNDLE" and then everyone else just throws themself on the
pile...

Why there aren't more kids killed in school, I really don't
know...Bundle was pretty deadly given enough people...

I don't know why it stops at school, it would be soo funny
if someone fell in the street or from a chair in a restraunt
and everyone screamed "Pile ON!" or "Bundle". I'd love that!

Ken: all those things you said mean nothing? All those walks
in the park on a Sunday afternoon are gone? Can I not wash
your underpants anymore? Are those fluffy handcuffs
consigned to the bin? Tell me it isn't so.

Jivver: I'll hunt you down for taking MY man.
