whether you're into repetitive catchy pop music, you can't
deny those boys know how to program an amazing sounding
vocoder

Is that what that is?

I thought they'd actually programmed robots to sing on their
tracks and perform for them on stage.

well obviously.

the robots are using vocoders.

A robot wouldn't need to use a vocoder, it would generate
speech with speech synthesis (duh).

Also, the album stinks and I'd love to fight those guys.

is it longer than a 15 seconds loop?

offline melack from barcielwave on 2013-04-20 09:51 [#02454451]

get lucky, definetly just a constant 10 sec great loop with
some stupid guy singing over it... finished on a fade out
(where those melodies on the ending made a better mood) the
only part i liked is the vocoder interlude

I guess you rneed to have loads of compression on everything
in order to hear any thing in a robo helmet.

a guy to start talking about plugins or mixing or production
and it just never happened haha"

if i was gonna get sick of anything it would be pharrell's
vocals which are beginning to sound a bit limp. hopefully
there'll be an extended vocoder version

what a great return. i remember what ppl thought of the last
album when it leaked, ppl didnt even think it was them it
sounded so raw!

they do what they do best, its techno disco or whatever the
fuck you want to call it. and getting nile rodgers involed
was a genius move.

really looking forward to the album.

and make of this what you will - it was released as a
download on the saturday, with 1 days sales it still managed
to get to no. 3 in the charts.

yeah their last album was pretty shit...

I must admit I was a bit disappointed to see Pharrell
singing on this song... I hate that guy, especially his
voice, but lets hope the album as a whole is good. Discovery
is still an all time favorite of mine!

ya, human after all had some great ideas on it, but every
song looped for way too long.

imo they were just stems to be worked into the alive 2006/07
tour.

After 15 years of uncreatively sampling 1970's music, Daft
Punk's first foray into creating an actual original track is
basically a copy of the music theyve been sampling. Genious
shit yo.
