i dug into the youtube vids of general beat kang "BoomBAP" and had a lol reading the comments, where he argues with braindead punters. here are some highlights: "I too am quite picky! I've NEVER touched an MPC in my Life and NEVER WILL! I've been a DJ for 20+ years and love Technics but thats dead technology (I miss records but im over it). Looking at Machine and MPC technology it's Info Overload and I designed this to go to work once you cut it on while riding the Bus, Plane, Train, etc. AKAI/NI aint got it like my thang. And if you haven't heard the sounds, you're missing out! It All Rihanna, Beyonce, and others Records & Im Proud They accept Thangz!" No offense taken. I comprehend that people don't like change (when the telephone came out, people were afraid of it). It doesn't surprise me that some would stick to a duel system method (Controlrs+Computrs) more than using an independent device designed to assist developing music education & composition comprehension.
