what do you think of my idea to use lasers to cut vinyl at
home and do for vinyl what CDRs did for CDs

GWC hated my idea

I would love to make my own homemade vinyl. Someone make
this happen please.

i imagine at first hobby shops, record stores etc. would buy
these "vinyl burners." you could pick the track you want, or
supply your own tracks, and they'd burn it at the store over
a few minutes. not good for bulk, but i think the economics
would work... if you could build such a machine. i don't
know enough about lasers to say if it's possible.

idea is for something with better sound, more durable than
dubplates, cheaper. less fiddly machine; fewer moving parts.
etc.

not to mention that i heard the blank plates can be
expensive.

imagine if you could also use this thing to blank out an
existing vinyl; e.g. turn that crate of moldy mantovani
records your neighbor threw out into blank discs, then burn
the analords. pirated vinyl.

I don't go anywhere else but here. So it's not me you
bothered. As for the track you're listening to, a name would
have been fine.

So, what are you listening to, in these grave times?

I meant at the moment. Like i am on random and was treated
to a brilliant JJDOOM track but 'Backdoor.Spyboter.A' was
playing when i asked you. It's rare aphex pops up on random.

Is braindance.net still around? I found hardoff to be the
most trollable goon in the history of computing.
