Im once again seeing a therapist. This time a woman who specializes in behavioural therapy. I am watching her closely because i know a bit how this kind of therapy works. I read a lot about it in the past. Last time i told her about ACT (Acceptance and commitment therapy) she didn't know that this is considered the third wave of behavioural therapies. So sadly, she doesn't know the diffrences between ACT and regular CBT. I don't know if that will result in some kind of power struggle between us, because ACT makes a lot more sense to me than regular CBT. That said i really value a scepticism, but at the same time i think i should be open to feedback. But only by people who know what they are talking about. Maybe i can only help myself |

I don't know. Suffering seems to be universal. Also, according to the relational frame theory it seems that psychological pain is connected to language. The human brain is a delicate organ, it does what it does even when i tell myself that there is no reason to be afraid. |

Today i asked my therapist if she does desentidation training with her clients. That means actually going out and doing something. She said: "No, i am not going out, i did this already im my clinical training. You are not my therapist" That is fine, i too am afraid about this, but if we don't do this together i will cancel the therapy. I will simply force her to do this with me! |
