Bought one last week - or actually I sold my Shergold 6-string Marathon bass for the same price, and used the money to buy it.
This is the best unit I've ever had, and the most fun synth I've tried. It's probably up next to a moog in hands on tweaking, and the sound is lush. I have a Yamaha PSS480 FM synth (it's kind of a toy, but with midi-in), which sounds a bit like crap, but through the filter of the MiniBrute it sounds like an incarnated DX7.
I'll never ever gonna sell this - it has already given me classic Oizo-sounds, phat arps and the knowledge on how the hell a synth actually works (there's no presets, so you get used to getting around on the knobs).
Playing around with my SP-404 sampler, the PSS-480, my Alesis Micron, delays, and the MiniBrute as the leader, gives me a lot of rich sounding all-hardware sessions, just by playing around. Really good for anyone looking at used moogs, and especially SH101's, 'cause this baby comes with warranty.
Oh, and it works well with external tempo on the arp and filter, through ether MIDI-in or even USB. It has a build in MIDI/USB-to-CV converter also.
Portishead's Adrian Utley gives a tour of the MiniBrute.

Adding the long verbs from the SP-404 has given me Clark sounds, and tweaking with the self-feeding knob called the "Brute Factor" gave me a total Autechre "Gantz Graf" sound.

I'd love to try it out. Really interested in DSI synths right now, though. Leaning more toward spending some money on an Evolver or maybe Tetra. The Minibrute does seem quite nice, though it's a shame the knobs don't transmit midi CC. Hopefully the music shops near me will stock them so I can check it out.
Congrats on your synth-purchase-satisfaction, Junktion. That's always a great feeling.
