Good call.

I would also nominate: Scooter.

i really enjoy exile's album on warp,
it is nice and original,
maybe a bit messy at times,
but id say its a good album...

Nah, he's done some decent dnb (with a more electronicy
http://www.discogs.com/Exile-Spanner-In-The-Worx-King-Shred
theme). Such as da/master/25083

Four Tet

The god of neverbeengoodies.

offline melack from barcielwave on 2012-08-15 13:45 [#02439475]
Points: 9099 Status: Regular

id say four tet has always been good,
nice melodies and beats and ideas,
but he couldnt avoid his repetitive til boredoom spirit,
until he found his perfect style (his actual minimal) based
on repetition.
hes a good happy man now

for me,
who has never been so good as people credited him,
is u-ziq.
maybe i catched him too late,
but i found most of his albums somehow uninspired.
i only enjoyed that übercomplex album on his own label,
i think it was his last one...
its like hes got mad skills but never really put it in clear
interesting ideas/tunes

Recommend me a Four Tet track then. Or two. I tried to get
into his music several times in several years, no success.
Maybe today is the day.

Agreed on u-ziq.

Fuck these guys, they must pay us if they want us to listen
to their crap!

About u-ziq: he has one of the best lables in the world. But
his muic is not very good for me.. I do like Bilious Paths..

:) i like when you agree with me...

matvey : id say four tet is more about albums than tunes,
at least his last one, there is love in you, tunes are
apparently repetitive, but when you know them you start
discovering the beauty and the infinity of layers going and
evoluting...

before that, everythings is extatic is a weird one, more
focused on beats masses, but yet interesting in its own
ideas.

and before, his classic Rounds, more IDMish, with some nice
tunes (but repeating til death as i told before, but yet
beautiful) like LAZY_TITLE or LAZY_TITLE

well done! :)

maybe hes not the best electronic producer arround,
but i really respect him for still trying to create original
new sound/concept in every album + for his colorfull spirit,
beautiful before anything
