A rap culture is a complex of beliefs that encourages male

aggression and supports violence against women. It reflects

a society where violence is seen as sexy and sexuality as
violent.
In rap culture, women perceive a continuum of threatened
violence that ranges from sexual remarks to sexual touching

to rap itself. A rap culture condones physical and
emotional terrorism against women as the norm.

Discuss.

It's old bullshit really isn't it? Though lots of idiots
take everything as gospel. There's often humour in the
lyrics and the persona we see is almost always a fake one.

It used to be fun but it's become really tedious.

I remember in 1992 i used to think all my favourite rappers
were the toughest men around. I look at them today and it's
rather amusing to see how boringly normal they are.

As for women. I don't think it's about saying they're hollow
idiotic holes to hurt and use. It's more of a show off
thing. The "i've got a yacht, all the coke i want and i'm
fucking your wife. come near me and i'll end your life" kind
of rubbish isn't make believe. Ludacris is a one
minute man.

Then of course you have extremely smart musicians and
lyricists out there. We shouldn't forget rap culture started
off with a peaceful aim.

Shame it's become an upside down iceberg. Only the small
part is underwater and it's generally all the best stuff.

How many gangsta rappers now play cop characters in tv
series? Or in rather poor comedies?
