free wasp

there is a door in the kitchen. two doors, really. screen
door and wood door. it's a back door(s), so we leave it
closed, alone, etc. unless we want access to the porch (its
primary function).

today, i noticed a gigantic wasp trapped between screen door
and wood door. i observe wasp for a good half hour; name him
steve. steve cleans himself most elegantly. lots of wings
and legs, and maybe a thorax too. steve likes climbing back
and forth on the chain. or maybe he is just looking for
escape?

but despite his onstage gravitas, steve is pretty dumb.
thonk thonk thonk. the concept of glass is beyond him, and
he doesn't seem to have the marbles to alter his approach,
even after four or five rounds of: ATTACK WINDOW! Climb on
chain. clean legs. explore ATTACK WINDOW!

it's about time to put the laundry on anyways, so i go round
back and very carefully open the screen door to let steve
out. but steve does not immediately bolt! we contemplate
each other for a good minute, before steve flies upward.

it was kind of him not to sting me. steve, what a wasp.

still irritated of his unexpected freedom steve glances back
at his saviour, waves goodbye and imminently gets eaten by a
unknown bird who patiently waited outside the wood door.

...and after he wakes up he starts listening to free wisp
tracks which make him shoot himself

"still irritated of his unexpected freedom steve glances
back
at his saviour, waves goodbye and imminently gets eaten by
a
unknown bird who patiently waited outside the wood door."

this is completely inaccurate. the wood door is on the
kitchen side, therefore your vulturous fowl would have been
waiting inside my kitchen, perched on the frigidaire, as i
granted steve full access to my fortified compound. this is
not how i roll.

I enjoyed your story, thanks for sharing. You seem like a
sensitive and observant person.

You might enjoy this:
LAZY_TITLE

A relative in Palo Alto took this picture during the recent
solar eclipse. Evidently leaves create small pinhole cameras
and project crescents of light/shadows in the breeze. I
might wake up early and try it myself during the transit of
venus next week.

Gutted. I thought this was a special offer?

I've always wanted a wasp.

We would go for walks/ flys, in/around the park. I would buy
him his own Mr Freeze ice pole he could chow and merrily
frolic on, whilst I eat a choc ice and read a Jilly Cooper
novel.

Never considered a name though. Perhaps, Keith.

now i'm embarrassed; i didn't mean it like that. mom 'n' dad
got me a canon powershot G3 as a high school graduation
present many years ago, and i've used that camera hard for
years. 320x240 for 3min max video recording; that's all i've
had for seven years or so. gone from 4mp to 10 and 320x240
to 720p. it's a bit overwhelming. canon powershot G12. i
bought it because the G3 has been a trooper for years. it
still works! just starting to develop bad pixels and i
finally had the cash for a new one

hey dont be embarrassed. i have a canon 550d and i was going
to make films but i didnt and i bet im not going to i think
thats embarrassing. i think its basically infested with
these tiny muthefucker mites that got into all my
electronics this year so its probably fucked but ive been
too much of a drinky dick to care but i still have dreams
every night about digging through my boxes and finding that
its ok
