Assholes at shows

I saw radiohead live at a festival once. There was this
young woman in front of me being an obnoxious bitch who KEPT
on bashing into me as she was doing her stupid dancing. It
wasn't like you though, because she knew what she was
doing.

So, in my rage, I stared at her like I was about to murder
her. She stopped, looked at me, her face turned pale, and
then she walked away with her friends.

I felt like a bit of a psychopath, but I also felt really
fucking good at the same time. Radiohead was to be ruined no
longer!

you go to a gig, focus on the awesome music, don't hear
stupid girls screaming, you go home, find a vid of the gig
on youtube, you're happy you can watch a moment from the
show you'd been too, and then you can hear the stupid girls
and you get pissed off

That's unfair.

The question is: is it unfair towards the "mongs" or Thom
Yorke?

It's clear (to me) that that clip is intended to be funny.
As so many people seem to think they are serious and moody.
And full of themselves because they didn't hang out with
Miley Cyrus.

I didn't like going out for a smoke with people who didn't
even know who autechre was. Lots of ppl go that aren't even
into it.

There were some people bumping into me too, but maybe that
was me, cause I like to let loose and dance like crazy but I
try to maintain my motions in my zone of the dancefloor.
That is until I've had several drinks.

Oh and at one of them, I met mappatazee and 010101. This
010101 jerk pulled me away from the speaker and put me in
the center and said "sounds better here". Tell me where to
dance?!
nah I kid, 010101 is a great guy and that was good advice.

At psytrance venues, I don't like when random people talk to
me or hug me. fucking hippies.

And I was such an asshole at infected mushroom (cause I
don't even like them, just wanted to do something for
halloween), got kicked out for dancing everywhere spilling
my drink then saying that infected mush was crap compared to
the opener. Twas a hazy fog of a night but I'm certain I'm
on that venues shitlist.

Lastly, and everyone feels the same on this one, going to
see an artist and you can hear people around you
scream-chatting over the music you want to hear.

first of all, marry me.

secondly the horse has a point there, who the fuck dances
around like a crazyperson with a backpack on?

but i get this thread or this general kind of thing going on
here at xlt these days, the exposed youth lost in the
digital jungle, hopelessly expressing themselves, through
whatever medium where feedback is easily obtainable. while i
do relate to some of the issues being brought to hand, it
seems that some people here are really struggling to handle
the most basic human emotions. good luck to you, to get
passed that 25 year mark and realize that its all bullshit.

also, in regards to music, this has turned into a cult. i
went to see aphex this year, felt absolutely nothing, his
magic is gone for me. talking to people who are into this
kind of music these days, feels completely empty to me, like
they are trapped at a certain height of their total musical
capacity.

bah, whatever xltronic.

I don't agree, at least in the beginning. Around 2000-2002
when the internet was new to a lot of people, specially
broadband internet, talking online to like minded people and
getting music/movies that you had no access to, it was a
novelty to us all, there was an excitement that has long
disappeared in the meme ridden internet of today.

I still remember most people here didn't know what LOL meant
(including me), I have very fond memories of aphextwin.nu,
really interesting and varied people during that period,
there was always 40-50 people online at all times, new
albums being put out by our favorites, always interesting
things to discuss, people trying to figure what aliases
Aphex had... obviously no one cares about that anymore, you
just go to discogs and find out everything there is to know.

speaking off assholes: have you ever said anything nice to
someone here the past years? I never saw you do that.
You only have a big mouth behind your computerscreen, imo
you're nothing more that a pathetic loser and I've got one
question left for you: can you please fuck off?

i went to a classical music performance this evening. along
with me came a friend of mine who suffers from schizophrenia
and thus has to take medicine that tends to make him quite
sleepy. ... anyway, so the performance started an hour later
than announced and then an elderly, japanese woman stepped
on stage and said "i'll play two pieces .. the first is 5
minutes long, the second is 40 minutes long and is a
world-premiere." .. and the second piece was very
minmalistic, quiet and slow and dragged on and on. and my
fat, schizophrenic buddy fell asleep AND STARTED TO SNORE.
it was horrible. his loud snouring between the sparse
piano-chords. of course i had to laugh and make an effort to
not laugh loudly. it felt a bit assholish.

I was at an ATR/Shizuo show in 98, and then all of a sudden
during "Sick To Death", four elderly men (in their 70's to
80's) pulled down my pants and started licking my dick. One
of the old dudes with my dick in his mouth was all, "I could
die for you, and you put lipstick on my brain!!!
(mumbling)"

After that, I can't really listen to ATR in the same way.
