sound quality?

Sound quality is fairly listenable, the bass sort of
disappears sometimes, but its fairly good.

hello all and special thanks to spculum for that record!! i
was there too, it was a wicked set and wicked show..

can you tell what material you used to record, and if you
have any tips to get a good sound like this?
i'm interessed by the .wav if you want to upload it
somewhere..

one more thing : i've read a wrong track id in the playlist
:
"00:31:00 Aphex (New track - Singapore/Dublin)" is actually
not an aphex twin track and is not even new :) it's a great
track by mark broom called "twenty nine (black mix)
you can listen to it here :

Thanks for the listen. Something I never heard before :) I
do like most autechre live i've heard over aphex live
though. hard not to compare the two :) i perceive aphex as
more of a songwriter in terms of electro...individual songs
that make up an album separately...and percieve autechre as
more fluent...although 20:04 intro Sonar'11 is def sick
transition...i think autechre trans. to be smoother...but i
can't thank you enough for this live look-in at a great
artist. and fuck u phresh for saying sound quality? good
enough for me....signed -
Trained Ear

I didnt blast the recording Mission AD I think the recording
is fairly good quality and better than the Forbidden Fruit
recording from Dublin as the crowd noise is not as
excessive, but when the bass does come in the limiter in the
recording machine brings the sound down a bit, like some of
the youtube clips does, spculum did you film this too is the
audio from a video camera? I used an IC Sony digital audio
recorder myself and I was standing about eight rows from the
front and dead centre, my recording was fairly noisy as I
was as excited as the thousands of other Irish fans who were
deprived of an Aphex show for 3 years, but I was well
impressed with the bass which came out pretty good in the
recording, this is a photo of the device I used
LAZY_TITLE The next show Aphex is playing is in July
sometime I think in Sweden and then Norway so hopefully
someone will record these too.

it's not bad, the recording device has picked up a good
range of frequencies, so is worth a listen

So there's over 10 tracks the same as the previous Dublin
gig....
Bit dissa about that to be honest.

One of Aphex's greatest traits is that his sets usually
differ quite a bit. (but with equal measures of driving
momentum, pace, melody etc)

But I suppose that was just an illusion created by the
relative scarcity of recordings. Now we can see that
concurrent sets may have a core structure with minor
variations..... er based on this one example of similarity

Or maybe he just got lazy/stoned in Barca!

Thoughts?

I went to the venue trying to figure it out the key
differences between an Aphex live or Dj set. ?¿¿??¿
In sonar was advertised as a Dj set.

Maybe he couldn't craft all his summer sets.

"So there's over 10 tracks the same as the previous Dublin
gig....
Bit dissa about that to be honest."

Aphex has been playin some of these numbers since 2008, the
second last track Code Blue and the Panacea - Graveyard
Twist (Come to Daddy style thrash drum & bass track) which
was featured in Dublin this year, was the 2nd last track
also in the Coachella 08 set he also played Balil – Small
Energies in both the Dublin gig and Coachella 08 and Oxegen.
Also the set was similar for Metz in 2010 as the following
gig at RockNess 2nd weekend in June 2010 (which I was at) he
played Tha, Blue Calx, In Sync - Storm and Vordhosbn. So
there has been a few regulars in his sets for the last 3
years, but he still uses variations with these tracks. With
Tha on the Metz bootleg he uses a sort of jarring key reverb
sort of thing, he didnt use this with the following gig at
RockNess. You also have to take into account that there
hasnt been a proper Aphex Twin album for nearly 10 years, if
he ever gets around to releasing another record then you
might get a more regular type of set with some of the new
albums main tracks, I still think he throws enough weird
stuff into his sets to still make interesting and
worthwhile.

Shottkey... thanks for that lil overview... don;t get me
wrong... know one does it like aphex....and i know he has
some faves and i love... them. But 50% being similar is
still fairly high for RDJ.....

100% agree on it all being intersting and worthwhile tho'.
Seen him 11 times now!
