all the squares deserve a visit, same for the parks

choose the ones nearest to you. they're not all the same,
every one has something, depending also on the hour you
visit them (for the light).

sometimes they do some crazy installation into them, last
time i checked a multi armed robot performing rotations,
noises and stuff. i'd go to piccadilly just to walk where
bob marley walked

if you mean which part of london to book your hotel then i'd
say anywhere, cus you pretty much get to any part of london
very quickly on the tube. if you're staying for a few days
it can get a bit expensive...

if you are interested in staying in a cheap hostel maybe try
'smart russell square', it's near oxford street, but you'd
be sharing with up to 8 people. you get onsite security and
locker. price fluctuates from about £10 to £20 a night

If you fancy a curry then you're spoilt for choice on Brick
Lane in the east end. Get the tube to Liverpool street or
Aldage East.

It's interesting to get the tube to Bank and wander through
the city to see the Bank of England, the "Gherkin", the
Llyods building (inside out like Pompidou) mixed in with
ancient churches and lots of architectural juxtapositions.

Museums: Science museum you would like, next door is Natural
History Museum, both in Kensington. British Museum is very
interesting (and has loads of stuff which isn't British
funnily enough). It's near Holborn tube (just north 10 mins
walk).
HMS Belfast is moored next to Tower Bridge and is
interesting (you have to pay to get on) but it has lots of
levels to explore and you can see the engine rooms, bridge,
magazines, gun turrets, etc. Interesting!

Good record shops: Flashback and Haggle Vinyl, both on Essex
road. Nearest tube is Angel (Northern line).
A bit more central around Soho (aim for Berwick St and all
within 5 min walk) try Phonica, Sounds of the Universe,
Sisteray, Reckless/Revival/whatever it's called this week (2
doors up from Sisterray).

You can easily wander round central London for a few hours
and see many many sights. One of the open top tourist buses
might be good so you can appreciate how the sights are quite
close together (travelling by tube is not good for this as
can't judge distances well) and you also get to see lots of
stuff (I think, never been on one).

A great view of London can be had from Grenwich observatory.
Get a sightseeing river boat from the Tower of London
(opposite HMS Belfast) to Grenwich then walk through the
park to the Observatory.
On the way back you can get the DLR at Cutty Sark and come
back via the Isle of Dogs, which gives great views as the
train is on a high track above ground (you can sit at the
front for the best views as they are automatically driven,
no driver!) The isle of dogs is an 1980s development so lots
of tower blocks and new shiny buildings.

working in East London for me.
