Hello sexy xlt people. Excuse my spam, but I have a new
album out, which I pressed onto glorious 2xLP vinyl, as
picture discs. You can hear the full-length samples and
check out pictures of the artwork HERE!

It's on a similar vibe to Hypersona and Hollow, but also
quite different in many ways. If you liked those albums,
hopefully you'll dig this. If you act quick, you can get one
of the first 50 copies, which include a free bonus disc. The
links below have more info.

first off im impressed by how you managed to in a few months
get 100k + plays and 8k listeners and all those people
following you. only a handful of artists go from zero
publicity to that in such a short time.

second, this new album sounds to me like the most modern and
emotional one to me. it has a bunch of very good harmonic
"pads" that reminds me of fennesz and especially tim hecker.

my only complaint would be that it does sound a bit loud in
certain places like its limited and maximized to the max. I
would have enjoyed a more calm level and vibe all through
like the intros have..

that said, congrats on the success! (and it really is, with
this overflood of artists today)

Cheers cx. Yeah, i've been pretty lucky in that fact. Last I
checked on last.fm, there was over 200k plays now, which is
pretty mad and certainly not something I was expecting.

I hardly promoted myself either, it's mainly just been word
of mouth and some very dedicated listeners. It's the only
reason I could put something like this out in the first
place.

+ great artwork and packaging !

its what all physical music is about today,
more the love for the object than nothing else.
lots of special packages and editions to attract collectors

offline Brisk from selling smack at the orphanage on 2010-11-03 11:34 [#02397429]
Points: 4667 Status: Lurker

hah, it's not really that loud. certainly not as loud as
your average tim hecker album, thats for sure.

the stereo field is just quite dense, giving that "wall of
sound" effect, which my ears like. gas albums were the same,
including lots of drone recordings now.

i hate brickwalling as much as the next guy, but there isn't
any distortion on this record, unless it was intentionally
there :)

cheers yallllll

Oh my god.
I've been out of the loop.
Blue, Red, and Memories in Widescreen are.. genius.

MIW has a 'white clouds drift on and on' vibe yet still
remains unique to your vibe. From the tracks I've listened
to, I'm already addicted.

TS:R took me by surprise. It's so dark and occult.. and yet
amazing on a different spectrum of your style. A menacing
beauty. Aural drifts repeating through my head designed to
induce the unease of mystery rather than the awe of
mystery.

TS:B is very much what I expected from the tape series. A
very wondrous collection of new and tinkered material.

I look forward to TS:G very much!

So how is it like to not live in total
electronic-music-obscurity (unintentionally "total E.M.O."
(oh, snap!)? My dreams of it are so vivid, yet I do not
know if they are based on anything that anyone has ever
implied to me... I think I might've just accidentally made
the whole thing up. ...It'd be like loving Reggae and
planning a trip to Jamaica, only to find out that Bob Marley
and Jamaica were invented by white dudes in Hollywood to
sell records.

jnasato: Telling from promotional photos, it looks like the
cassette tapes you released were very pretty.

Brisk: Only from the waist down.

jnasato: Okay.

Brisk: Okay.

I can finally confirm that the bonus CD included with this
is a full-length Bass Communion remix album, featuring 6
tracks/53 minutes of SW's material, reinterpreted by 36.
It's the perfect companion album to Memories In Widescreen.

Hi Brisk! *waves, but not in over-the-top way*

Congrats on your popularity. :)

How did you make the artwork? If it is produced on a
computer, that is cool I guess. But if it is a photograph I
will be very impressed; even if you edited on a computer,
still very cool indeed!

crazone: i believe so, but there were a lot of orders and
honestly, i can't remember! let me know.

tractern: both. it's photographs of water, digitally edited
and collaged. i did some similar art about a year ago, using
the same process, though these are slightly more complex and
made to resemble sea creatures. you can see there
here and here

I don't like the other ones, but the one you used for the
album cover is very cool, cos the editing is so subtle.
Looks very cool!

Very cool to make a good album AND do the cover art which is
very cool, too! :) Very few artists do this.

Perhaps I should start thinking up alternatives for
expressions of appreciation for things. 'Beans', maybe.

who would u say musically u wer closest to? why did u press
this on vinyl? was it for an ego boost? or for fun? there is
no malice in these questions but i am interested. i think a
lot of internet musicians would love some kind of vinyl
pressing as if to say "oh ive made it" but even then, then
what?

what is next? what does it mean? was this your life target,
and if it was, i am interested in your emotional response,
the immediate one and the later one.

ok id like to go further before i listen to it all the way
through.

one obvious point is that u expect ppl to pay YOU money, who
the hell are you!?! and how many mp3s have u downloaded for
free off the internet?

the stream idea is great i hope more artists do this. and i
love the first track. and yes i am typing as i listen. but i
still dont want to pay.
