Hi all, I love sound and recently have been experimenting
with a new genre called panic jungle. I've almalgamated
classic sounds electronically with jungle to produce THIS.
Tell me what you think. I'm going to incorporate some dark
glitch to it in time but for now this is WICKED MAN!

I reckon the Chinese will love it thats where I'm gonna
market it.

@ Taxidermist, what do you mean by spamming? I'm not
spamming at all but not sure how to show my music otherwise,
apart from hosting it. I would like to upload directly to
xltronic in flac format but can't see how.

@larn does she like jungle mate? Does she like glitch? Is
she Chinese herself? If so, does she have a large community
she could market panic jungle to?

The Chinese, they're gonna love this stuff. China, thats
where its at. I managed to pull off a night at a Laibin club
and a Chongzuo club using a new genre I mastered (never
could get it to take off here) called natural drum 'n' bass,
where I drop in lots of sounds like ducks, whistling wind
and... well, any sound of nature. They're not random,
obviously they complement they feel of the drum 'n' bass,
but somehow it never really took off here and I was
threatened in Brixton, that was fucking scary. China, thats
where tis at brothers EEEEEE HEEEEEEE!! Chamone!

attaching an adjective to an already well established genre
does not create a new genre.

@ hedphukker, get a cassette tape mate, put sellotape over
the little recordy bits at the bottom, get your best friend
to read the following, record it, place it into your Aiwa
walkman, and listen to it on the short bus on the way to
school.

You have metal and power metal, medieval metal and oriental
metal but most importantly: southern metal.

One has hip hop but also Southern hip hop. Have I missed out
industrial hip hop? Yes, but now it’s there.

We have folk, but not any old folk, we have urban folk we
have Irish folk, so folk off!!!

You wanna chant? We all have chant, but we also have
Gregorian chant.

This lil chitty will put you in a trance, or a minimalist
trance, you decide!

You have soul, but I have a Northern soul and my buddies all
have Southern soul.

Do you like jazz hedphukker? Do you like jazz? How about
smooth jazz, urban jazz, punk jazz or vocal jazz? Huh?

Maybe you like your music hardcore. How about happy
hardcore? Chamone brother EEEE HEEEE!!! Check it. OOOOWWW

Do you live in a house? Is it vocal house or deep house?
WELL I BE DAMNED!

Need I go on? Absolutely!

Solid as a rock. Did I say rock? Oh sorry I meant one of the
following: Southern rock, hard rock, electronic rock, soft
rock and punk rock. “Punk is a noun” I hear you cry. Ah
yes, but in this context it’s an adjec-teeve mo fo!

Are you feeling blue? Do you have the blues? I’ve been
diagnosed with all of the following over the course of my
sorry lil life: Soul blues, punk blues, and that stubborn
biatch Western blues. Damn the Prozac was needed on that
one!

Most of the above have had “progressive”
“underground” or “psychedelic” placed as a prefix
sometime in history.

And last but not least we have music, or do we have
classical music, or maybe modern classical music, or perhaps
postmodern classical music.

We’re all in the jungle here brother, except in mine you
PANIC!!! You’re gonna have an awful lot of well informed
music fans out there who won’t be too happy having their
passionately loved g

genres invalidated by a internet dweeb’s proclamation
based on technicalities of grammatical nature, of all
things. “Maybe we had better just consign our genres to
the history bin and grow up” I hear the collective cry,
arse slackening in it’s poignancy.

When you're rapt by the nomenclature surrounding an art, are
you enjoying the art itself or the organisational structure
you've created? In the end, it's still music.

Penis.

unfortunately making a track that was done better a million
times in 1994 does not constitute a new genre and even the
chinese with their tiny little eyes will be able to see that

@ Descent, I'm not engrossed in nomenclature, but merely
furnsihing a bankrupt point made by an imbicile. I love art
and I'm very good at making musical mixes. I feel resentment
at having to explain things to people who should know
better.

@junglist_job; you post adverts for your music in a forum
and community you have no previous relationship with, and
get aggressive when people don't respond the way you like.
Expect to get flamed.

BTW. You haven't even taken the consideration to post your
music in a soundcloud/youtube link. Some people don't want
to download files, they would rather stream it and have the
option to download it if they like it.

yes. there are subgenres. but the music exists before the
name. subgenres are named by fans, not creators. all a
subgenre is is an easy way for friends to refer to a
specific style of music. once the conventions exist, people
play around within them and more subgenres emerge. but the
naming conventions always happen after the fact.

you use chants :: gregorian chants as an example. but do you
think a monk was sitting around one days and thought, "fuck
this boring vanilla chanting shit, i'm gonna make some
gregorian chants?" no. some stuffy scholar a few thousand
years later came up with the term.

the only person to ever have gotten away with naming his own
genre is dj shadow, and even then illbient is still pretty
stupid sounding.

I thought that was DJ spooky.

Aphex coined braindance as well if I am not mistaken. Not
widely used, but still an accepted genre name.

@ hedphukkerr, nah, you're well wrong man! If sub genres are
sub ordinate to genres, then genres are sub ordinate to
music. Music is therefore the supreme genre. Or it can go
further, music is sub ordinate to sound: music is afterall
organised sound. Do you think the monks said "I think we
need to improve this sound", the other says "Yes, lets call
it.......sound". "Good idea says the other".

and promote their own made up genre, which was immediately
the first and last time i've ever heard of those same
people. Just get it out there and see what actual listeners
make of it man, i'm sure they'll come up with something.

basicaly i play d&b jungle, dance, glitch, dubstep in my car
but she only likes few tracks, ones that sound cute or
catchy, she has a no reaction to other darker stuff really.
she doesnt really understand glitch music, she just said
'why?' when i put it on as if to say, why would you put
yourself through this sort of torture, maybe she has a point
who knows

she just likes Cpop Jpop Kpop music really, cute things
because she is very simple minded like all girls are, just
goes with the flow

i have a theory that the faster your thought process, the
more you like faster music

I made a genre called "peepee doodoo caacaa", and I actually
want to use that name also if I become a professional MMA
fighter. I think it's great.

"Defending his title, Jerry THE EXPLOSIVE TIGER Smith!
Challenger... in the orange shorts... PEEPEE DOODOO CAACAA!"
Just totally shits over every other fighter who thinks
they're badass cuz they can afford to go to a tattoo shop to
get tribal tattoos and shit. Fuckin' wankaz!

But anyway- you wanna be revelutionary with music? Fly into
the heart of North Korea with an indestructable tank with a
massive 1,000,000 watt sound system on it and blast
electronic music so loud, that it's heard in California.
Then from the tank's cannons, shoot millions of e tablets in
the air and let them all rave for the first time in their
lives.

We're all so spoiled to even be able to have subsubsub
genres. We can't even appreciate music anymore, cuz we're
so spoiled...

Free North Korea with electronica now!
