@ kei9, you knob, you're obviously ignorant and very
judgemental. Its called "panic jungle" not ""panik azid
druman baiz wiked shit bro!". I wouldn't expect you to
understand because you obviously dont understand jungle
music.

My track isnt just some whistle, its a poignant shrine to
all the people who have felt panic at some time in their
life (real panic, such as German bombers dropping bombs on
them). It embodies the totality of that experience and
leaves one in no doubt as to the weight of the threat.
Listen to it several times and it will grow on you and
you'll start to understand. You have to feel it, you have to
be it, and only then will you probably cry.

sadly taxi, i think you may be overestimating the general
human populace here.

how long has it been since you interacted with high

Absolutely brilliant thread, I laughed, I despaired, it was
great! It has all the hallmarks of what makes xltronic so
great, crap spam, verbose twattery, witty comebacks. Thanks
to all who participated.

I liked larn sneaking in a little "all women are simple
minded" jab as well. That cracked me up.

9/10

If you really want to sell Panic Jungle as a genre in China,
you should sample the deep thuds of the butt of a rifle from
the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests for bassdrum sounds. I
think they'd really dig that.

I've took the time to listen to the track, in an
unprecedented move being lauded by the press as being "edgy
and innovative." Panic Jungle is actually jungle with an
air-raid siren and the words "this is a warning, warning,
warning."

I still think my idea is better.

offline junglist_job from United Kingdom on 2010-08-07 15:47 [#02388895]

Its not just jungle with an air-raid siren and the words
"this is a warning, warning, warning." Its so much more, I
have samples of Kim Jong Il warning the west of Nuclear war,
followed by the sound of a nuclear explosion behind General
Levy's "Jungle is Massive". The whole ambience of panic
jungle represents chaos and is symbolic of the noise and
fury of humanity, in addition to the madness.

I have sound samples of the twin towers collapsing and Osama
Bin Laden's voice weaved throughout Uk Apache and Shy FX's
"Original Nuttah" straight after the intro where he says
"Alrigh' mate, 'ow ya doin' mate?".

Dont criticise what you dont understand. You lot may make
music which is crap, but unless it is highly expressional of
a theme, issue or experience, its meaningless.

Tell you what, you'll all be laughing on the other sides of
your faces when I have skibadee mc'ing for me and aphex twin
is ringing me up to apologise for his non contribution. This
is really going somewhere.

and you make 'dance music'. fucking nob.

learn to paint your own picture in your head with what you
hear. go put a coldplay cd on for meaning pffffft

Dance music, where'd you get that idea from you cretin!
Panic Jungle is a profound genre. Hearing Osama Bin Laden's
voice and the rumble of the World Trade Centre collapsing
straight after a colloquially benevolent greeting is
bringing two opposing sentiments together into one place
which ultimately brings pleasure to people.

I've played it to hot chicks and its made them cry, so dont
tell me about dance music. Its nothing more than insolent
noise designed for people who smoke drug, have no
substantial thought processes, are moronic, and who have no
concept of the words "think" and "do".

This place has an extreme abundance of philistines and
ignoramuses.

I've made hot chicks cry and smoked drug, we've all been
there. Insolent Noise sounds like a better genre than Panic
Jungle. How about Bemused Skiffle or Alert Two-Step.

Imagine using notes and tones which denote confusion, but
use traditional skiffle construction. That'd be wicked!!

National Geographic and Discovery Channel have been doing
panic jungle for ages-- literally. Like, in a fucking
jungle, and there is a rodent running for its life-
PANICKING FOR REAL- and then the snake eats it.

THAT, is panic jungle. If The Winstons were fortunate
enough to have a talented drummer to bust out a drum solo as
awesome as the amen, that's not jungle-- that's education
(self or not).

If you REALLY wanted someone to experience panic jungle,
just drop them in a proper jungle with a pack of starving
wild boars- fuuuck--- they will panic.

In the jungle.

No time for dyancin'.

You'll have fun with promoting your new sound, these people
will not give a shit if you DJ'd next to Richard, nobody
gets hurt and everybody moves on and has fun. No need to
tell people they 'just don't understand your shit' when you
have no clue who you're talking to. This is our way to tell
people we don't like their music man.

make them panic glitch? or do they need more "terrifying"
and "panic inducing" sounds?

Yes. Yes, it is.

Though on weed or e, everything can be good, but... you
know. There's a balance. ...somewhere.

Somewhere, there's a balance.

Cuz in all sincerity, almsot every music is absolutely
incredible, even the shitty shit. Just the ability to
perceive sound is a wondrous miracle of consciousness.

So "interesting" isn't really an issue of inherent quality;
but rather an issue of one's arbitrary interest-tolerence.

Though interest-tolerence is "intentionally" pushed high
within people, so that they don't sit around and look at the
air all day long and just die from malnourishment; cuz air
is more interesting than food, etc.

But technology has pretty much pushed everything to the
limits of practical imagination, so fucking everyone is
spoiled. Aaaaand then comes the need for "balance". Where
does one draw the line of interest-tolerence?

I keep my interest-tolerence at a relatively-near-core
level, so I'm always looking at everything with my mouth
open and pissing my pants and shit... but with music, it's
not that a lot of new shit isn't "interesting", it's just
that "a lot" is contrived or super derivative.

Like at least 60% of new music I try to listen to (online)
sounds like sp/afx/vs tribute music, which is like... what
the hell happened to the concept of personal style and
character?

Like Ed DMX for example- actual music aside, it's so
apparent that he's fucking obsessed with the 80's and shit,
and THAT is interesting character. And that character
flavor flows through his music, despite it being taken from
people of the past. So it gives his choonz a flavor that
tastes like his, even though it superficially isn't.

I just want nice/fun/new/interesting character in music...
I miss it so!

A lot of times some n00b will post his tracks, and then 20
people will post how much he sucks ballz. But I often hear
a rawness and untrained hand that's frantically grasping
within himself to find an identity, and that is so fresh and
actually awesome.

1 on 1 in a public forum; address the character you are
talking to and their music separately.

junglist_bob comes across as an arrogant twit, so people
have every right to treat him as such if thats their choice.
If his music sounds ridiculous then people have every right
to describe it as such, and provide their own reasons to do
so.

I won't go to a website I don't trust, and download
something based off the suggestion of someone I have never
talked to before. My criticism of him not using a good
website to facilitate the listening of his music stands.

your music, even at specific parts. Its very simple and
practical, and gives you some good raw data insofar as to
listening trends.

i like the way the whistle stops just at the right point,
gosh this guy is good! those sirens really stir something
inside, so chilling and haunting, my Grandad would of liked
this if he had smoked drug in his rusty old pipe... it also
reminds me of walking home from school, the siren were a
warning; a dangerous mental patient had escaped from St

haha- we are all just Richard James talking to himself on
his home laptop with no internet connection.

As for sirens... Hawaii tests their tsunami/hazard-warning
sirens at the beginning of every month. I didn't know that,
so when I first heard it, I though we were being attacked
and shit!!! Fucking loud sirens are actually quite...
alarming.

And I recently moved to a place with a clear view of Pearl
Harbor, so when viewing the sight and being
American-born-Japanese, I dunno whether to cry or give
myself high fives.
Or wank it hard.

@ jnasato, cheers man, you clearly get it. Your analysis
illustrates perfectly my goal and the wider meaning behind
my music. I've sold out to pubs who have upward of 20 or 30
clients in there on Friday and Saturday nights and the
council hired me to support another act at my local venue,
so those people obviously see what you see too.

@ larn, I never thought of samba, but I've made a track
incorporating samba with a sample associated with jungle. I
am diversifying with samba. I've given it a try (on
soundcloud).

Panic junba

I feel it reflects perfectly the sound and the fury of post
industrial revolution life and gives us a vision of shallow
futurism. That is enough to panic on its own. Anyway, enjoy
my wicked mix.
