if you are a christian and someone approaches you asking
"do you believe in god" and for a split second you consider
the possibility that there is no god and in that split
second the person enquiring pulls out a gun and shoots you
in the head and you die do you go to heaven or hell? and if
you are catholic do you go to heaven, hell, purgatory, or
limbo?

hahaa! great question, cygnus.

I would probably say that their judgement would be based on
the rest of their life and the fact that they had been shot
in the head would be taken into account in their favour
probably, I dunno.

But don't get me wrong, Christianity sucks- it's caused as
many wars as any other religion.

You wouldn't go to heaven or hell, since they don't exist.
You'd just go in the dirt and become worm food. If the guy
who shot you doesn't escape the judgement of his fellow
monkeys by committing suicide, he'll probably go to jail and
get ass raped, because the government purposely uses gay ass
raping as a deterrent. If it was just pure solitary
confinement, I'd barely even care if I went to prison as it
would be pretty much the same as my current life.

your question does not take into consideration that many
believe salvation is permanent... no matter if disbelief may
seem to occur.

so I would actually say they would go to heaven.
and also their thoughts would be on the gunman and the
situation at hand more than lofty thoughts as they have
already thought that out by becoming a Christian in the
first place.

Christianity is a false religion. How can God have a son?
Why would God allow himself to die on the cross?

i'm going to write in this thread-- you fucking baited me,
but I'm going to wade through all the uninformation and
opinion. here you go:

First off, find me a human being who lives according to
Christ's precepts, or who can even explain a majority of
these precepts-- you can't-- this is because most people,
regardless of how they 'identify' religiously, do not have
any more than a surface, pop media or word of mouth seeded
"relationship" with christ, or perhaps they "hear christ" in
their heads. If they hear a voice in their head, and it
explains christ's actual precepts, it is because they've
established themselves within those precepts-- otherwise,
they are simply suffering from mild schizm (like most
people) and use the second personality as a buffer

As far as Christ's precepts-- they are so distorted from
whatever Christ may have actually meant that modern
exemplifications of them DO NOT EXIST.

The best example I can give of these things lies in this
question:
"Why did Christ not ever laugh?"

There is likely an answer to this question related to
unified brain function being able to deal with all nervous
stimulus in ways that fragmented humans cannot.

Now-- remember, that when you go knocking "christians" in
america, or "christians" in saudi arabia, you are actually
just knocking a stereotype.

Before you start making silly assumptions that will cut you
off from what is actually VALUABLE and ESSENTIAL to
understanding, you should learn about what Alchemy is in
relationship to Gnosticism-- why alchemy emerged-- which I
can briefly describe as a means for christians to reconnect
to the abandoned cthonic realm.

All religions are best understood from ritualistic or
esoteric angles, in my opinion. It's all about WILL, and
the issue of WILL, and the will to do anything at all, is
all but settled.

if you care at all about anything, you are a fool to
attribute it all to "just you" or "just not you"-- this
merger of the two is what I suspect is most valuable in

sometimes referred to as dwelling within christ, as christ
dwelled within the father,

this speaks to the inseperability of man from god (whatever
resides in and outside the known universe)-- note that "man"
or a conscious entity will always reside within a known
universe.

These ideas exist in all religions, and are at the core of
symbolism, ritualism, and society.

You think Christianity is a crazy fucked up religion?
American Consumerism is so fucked up that most who practice
it still go through the rituals, donate their time, money,
and souls, without even knowing it is a religion.

In ANY "cult," you will find 'leaders' who are viewed as
enlightened by their followers. A follower who realizes
their leader is NOT GOD, but that path to God exists only
within themselves, is suddenly not enculturated as they were
before.

The development of will by which to be free is the essential
character of all religion, and it is admitted that this will
can be achieved only by a process. You can't you read some
shit, make up some prayers, and be holy. Nor can you put
money in a basket for holiness.

You think you have free will? Take a vow of silence and see
how long you last. Try to do anything creative and see how
accidental actually is.

Also, one of the trickiest parts of "hell" is that

quaristice-- "He" is unlike anything we can imagine?

I can imagine a "he-god" pretty well.

God is just a word, and it means nothing.

We can say nothing about God in this thread, only about
ourselves, but within ourselves we're able to imagine God,
with the "mind-image"-- you know when you're asleep and you
have an epiphany but can't remember it when you wake up? Or
if you've ever tried nitrous oxide-- kind of like that.

This is because our minds are actually IN THE WAY between us
and God, or universal consciousness. All you have to do is
meditate, or focus your brain, and your imagination of what
God is or what it can be will grow.

In fact, go listen to some binaural beats and they'll get
you closer.

so, on a final note---

"i hate God, he hates me-- whoa no not hell damnit God you
FAG, why'd you do this to me?" blasphemy is better than
censorship.

Religion just represents a fragmentation of the idea of
self. I don't think it's good or bad but, all religions lead
to the same path. Or like that quote says, "All paths lead
to the same destination"

This is where I outright disagree with you. You cannot have
a brain-borne idea of what God is, and in fact the Brain is
what disconnects you from anything you would call Godlike.

The disconnect doesn't remove you from whatever spiritual
essence there is, it just prevents you from experiencing it
as a self evident reality beacause you're relying on brain
activity. The brain has no idea about anything spiritual.
It's a calculator.

Just look at that terminoloy, "Imagine god"

"Imag (image) - God" . That's all you can look at. An
image, not God. The brain can imagine a lot but it's by no
means capable of grasping the essence of something that
lacks physical form. The brain cannot grasp a "nothing" .
It's a computer.

What I don't understand is why would a perfect being create
imperfection, us.

I also don't understand how we can have free will if all
instances of time and matter are traced back to one creator
that knows everything that we will do before we exist.

I really don't know if there is a god or not, but it doesn't
make sense that there should be one or at least the way god
is described in the bible or any holy book.

We sin because we are imperfect, that's why we need
salvation or whatever, to give our devotion to god and
follow its rules because we are imperfect. I think. I lost
myself I think.

But anyway, god made us imperfect, sinners. It's supposed to
be perfect right? But made us sinners to worship it.

I'm lost. Maybe someone can illuminate...

Now, I don't consider myself an idiot (maybe others do), but
what you wrote makes absolutely no sense. It's jargon. Do
you have any real grasp of what it is you are attempting to

How can the body receive salvation? It is impossible. It's
an object, it's a thing. Unless the essence which gives
salvation is also a "thing" then how can it receive
transubstantiation? Furthermore if you are conscious of your
body and your sense perceptions, self aware of the machine
then you have already transubstantiated, haven't you? Is
this the case or am I wrong?

Transmuting. If "you" are receiving salvation, then what is
actually being rescued from destruction? The body has to die
either way, your consciousness ends. Death happens no matter
what. And if you're aware of your body, haven't you already
done this? Haven't you already transmuted from form to
formlessness?

I don't what you mean exactly.

God is supposed to be perfect, but it made people which are
flawed. That's basically what I'm trying to get across. It
doesn't make sense.

I think maybe you are on to something else.

Cygnus, I don't understand what you're saying. I'm not
trying to be a smart-arse, but I can't grasp what it is you
are getting at. Either I'm lacking, or what you are talking
about makes no sense.

What is salvation?
What is being destroyed that can be rescued?

"The body has to die either way, your consciousness ends.
Death happens no matter what." This bit I understand.

I am aware of my body, so what is it that I have already
done? Transmuted from form to formless? Surely body is
form? So if I am aware of my body, surely I am in the realm
of form? Whatever that actually means.

I know, and I mean to say that it does not make sense on an
imperfect level. Perfection cannot make sense on an
imperfect level. Your brain is imperfect, so it can't
understand something that's perfect. Maybe a brief glimpse
of the utter brilliance of something that is complete beyond
practical or theoretical improvement, but short-lived since
the brain is just a computer.

I mean to say that if you are aware of your body then you
are not your body.

If you are holding a camera and videotaping a concert, you
may find yourself sucked into the performance through the
lens of the machine, but it is not you. You are holding the
machine. So you'd snap out of it once you reminded yourself
you were holding the camera and you actually were not the
