I have just heard one track from this and to be honest it
isn't bad. Will 2008 be the year of a half decent albums
from has-been rock bands?

[copy paste from previous thread>]
"i think if he called it a solo album he would get a lot
more
respect for it than what he's going to get. it's not guns
n'
roses. can't see him calling it a solo album because he
took
the rest of the band to court to keep the name didn't
he?..."

-since i listened to the leak, and re-dug out 'appetite for
destruction', i have come to the conclusion that 'Chinese
Democracy' is shite.

i still think he should call it a solo album.

I fully expected it to be shiter than shite, but as with
Metallica I was pleasently surprised. It will never hold up
againt Appetite for Destruction but I admire him for not
making a typical G'n'R sounding album.

I don't know why the people who say 'oh this will suck' feel
that way. think about it. most people come out with an album
every two years or so, right? and those releases have 10+
songs on them. it's not like they've ONLY come up with 10
during that 2 year span of time, those are just the best of
what they've come up with. imagine that after almost 10
years, maybe more! that's a few albums, enough to compile
from that a greatest hits package - bands/artists have done
that with much less..
from what I've heard, the album is classic material. really
strong tracks. and, of course, if you don't like guns n'
roses/axl rose to begin with, you might not like it. but
those people attack it before they've heard note one. not
fair to axl! stop it. aren't you interested to hear
something that an artist has taken so seriously for so long?
I think more people should take longer with their shit too!!

i've heard 9 tracks and in my opinion it's shit. i was
hoping it would be good too.

if it was any more MOR it would be the white lines.

I know what you mean. some of what I heard was so mor that
it didn't make sense - like why did THAT make the cut!?

but there are some songs on there that I think are the best
he's written.

I don't know, I'm excited. aha

...I actually quite like it. I'm biased towards anything
with Bucket on it but yeah... not bad at all. Spot on review
of it on avclub.com if anyone cares
