Math n Music thats all that counts.

As yall might know I have an GREAT interest in mathematics
and music.

I consider that mathematics is simply the study of
measurements.

To weigh and judge different things, it is just like being a
judge with the court: You know the circumstances and the
facts, and you must combine all that to make a nice decision
in your life.

It is just like that, thats just the way Archrival live u
know.....

I base certain things on what surrounds me, which is
tangible, I try to apprehend the things around me and I
makes my decisions in function. Approximately, it is simply
good smellin ya know.

But how does mathematics really help me to carry out my
life? Its all about math n music you know, listening to boc,
smoking weed and analyzing different numbers.

The numbers are at the base of all sciences, of all
energies. Mathematics does NEVER lie to yall.

it's all calculated - figure that.

The first stage, it is Knowledge, because to learn, one
needs to look, listen and observe.

Wisdom is the second stage. It is a question of expressing
what one knows, it is very logical nah mean...

The third stage, it is the Comprehension, which arrives at
the end.

If you want to connect all this to the human being, that
corresponds to "the Man, the Woman and the Child".

The Man is Knowledge, and it must cross the Woman to obtain
the Child.

If you want to connect it to the universe, that gives the
Sun, the Moon and Stars.

All is One.

Whats really important for all of us in this community
(aphex community and all communitys in general, positive
communitys) is to build permanently.

It is what im doing in this moment right here. That is
simply to apply mathematics to all of yall, to be able to
bring things. Its either build or destroy and I rather build
than destroy nah mean.

Whats very important is to not take things for what they
seem to be insted take them for what they are. U got to dig
deeper into things not just on the surface.

It is like this history of Jesus who nourished 2000 people
with a piece of bread. Too many people take this history
with the first degree and have a miraculous reading of the
thing, whereas actually it made only nourish them its word,
of Knowledge and Wisdom, right?.

I love mathematics also. For me, man is not equal to
knowledge, nor does 'the woman' need man to pass her 'the
knowledge'. I also think 'comprehension' should precede or
at least be intimitely involved in 'expressing what one
knows'.

I am very much into dead advanced mathematics off the
boundries of characters and numbers. The texture patterns
anywhere in school does in some way match the lines on my
hands.
I cant deal with simple maths tho.. I´m really doing bad in
mathem.class.

Archrival, sounds like you should pick up a copy of "Music
of the Spheres" and read immediately. :)

Maths is just a technology....like so many others....

Look back at the problems with maths that Bertram Russell
tried to sort out & Hilbert.... you'll find that Maths is
built on sand foundations and isn't something that exists
outside of human contructs...

Tricky stuff...but read up on that history; I think you'll
enjoy it a lot...

(& yeah, Music of the Spheres is a very cool book...getting
on a bit now tho...)...

"Mathematics does NEVER lie to yall"...

Oh yes, it does...look at Godels work & Turings work on the
Enschunigan(sp?) problem...

It proved that it's possible to express a logical paradox in
maths and hence it's neither True or False "a lie"....

What sort of music do you have in your collections that
makes conspicuous and/or purposeful use of mathematics?

I dunno, BoC's Aquarius I guess. that sequence seems pretty
damn familiar.

Jand:

"Mathematics does NEVER lie to yall"

When I say math, its a metaphor for something bigger.

"Whats very important is to not take things for what they
seem to be insted take them for what they are. U got to dig

deeper into things not just on the surface."

"Music is math" im sure that refers to Modern musicsoftware
!

Actually I hate math, its not only boring, but im to stupid
to understand it.............
ehrr.....yes

But anyway, im looking forward to the new Super Collider
Album "Raw Digits"............

Ligeti made some wonderful contributions to mathematics and
music. I also really like what Philip Glass, Ianis Xenakis
and Krist Penderecki have done with it. J.S. Bach has done
the most for the conceptual unity in my opinion.

Tell me more, Arch....I'm trying to get my head around what
you are saying...

I know we are on a similar wavelength but theres a lot of
static & noise that's making it hard to make out your
meaning...

please... don't... let me believe that 1 + 1= 11 and that
all these complex numbers were just a nightmare... no... i
don't want to be beaten again by all these integrals... this
is not for me... i don't deserve that... pleeeease... no...
no... don't!!! ='(

math is patterns...

everything that seems like chaos is a pattern at some
level.

it just depends on what scale something is observed from

do you have a concrete link to that book? i did a google and
there were tons of links for "music ..." but no book!!

A good book related to math is Simon Singh's "The Code Book"
and "Fahtma's Enigma"...

I may have mispelled Fahtma...
