if it's an iPod Touch that you're looking to back up, forget
it

to my knowledge there is no way to back up the iPod Touch
because it uses a different file system to the other iPods

thanks. my ipods got about 5gb of 'other' that's
mysteriously disappeared so i reckon the best thing is
backup>wipe>copy. bish>bash>bosh.

Can't you just use iTunes?

If you haven't 'wiped' already, try opening up your iPod
drive in Macintosh's "My Computer" equivalent. Then, if you
"show hidden folders", you should see one called
iPod_Control. All your saved files are in there, just mixed
up. If you know what you're missing, you should be able to
search for it in there. Copy Paste
