i dont think there are any mysteries behind all of the troubles we have in human life , theres no god in the air waiting to judge us for what we've done , there is no one invisible thing causing anything to happen to us , i think that we happen to things instead
nothing fits the city i live in more suitably than that painting "the scream" , it captures what everyone around me is going through so accurately. becoming insane asking for answers where there are none - totally unable to see that their answer to their problems has become that they require an answer
if i have kids thatll be the only thing i tell them as a 'life lesson'. i'll say, "you currently know more about this shit than i do. dont listen to a fucking word i say ever. do you know that you can teleport?"

if you say there is an answer you do not have - then that is your answer, isnt it? youve said, "i do not have the answer." you have declared, "I cannot rationalize this." isnt it totally up to you?

personally i believe humans are built to be curious, and without this curiosity we would not survive or evolve in any way.
the brain is basically a problem solver, thats it, it solves the problems it sees. everything from a stained shirt to existentialism.
i realized that im always going to be a half perfectionist, and that im always going to wonder about things, but why is this a bad thing?
why is requiring an answer a bad thing? this is the same shit we discussed with barcode, he thinks its best to be animals and only live on instinct, and that this is the ultimate way of living with nature.
i say intelligence and self awareness is more than that, and that it is worth any trouble we may have figuring shit out.
another thing, about your example with your own kids, i dont think children know more about this than us. i think i see your point in that children live usually a much less analytic and much less mature life, and that this is the root of a lot of problems. but isnt that what makes us human?
why do we have to criticize and alter our own way we evolved?
why cant we just accept who we are, and let it evolve by itself.
enough people are happy, enough people are angry, sad, but this is the human condition, and i dont think theres anything wrong with that

i cannot rationalize it's the beginning of any religion principle. i'm saying i don't have an answer cos i can't access it somehow. that's what was happening in the past, or what happens in the less advanced countries. in the advanced ones nowadays, there are answers many people don't have cos they're too deep into something to see, or have been too much into something to accept, or they just don't give a fuck about them, that it's up to us the way things are going in this world. and will be up to our sons the way things will go in the future cos you can easily answer questions that people have been wondering about for ages. we, the informed ones, are consciously being fucked everyday but the fact that we ignore the problems doesn't mean that the problems don't exist.

of course not hehe
the "solution" is much much much more complex than any one single person can fathom.
there are so many people involved and so many angles to take into account, and so many events and compromises need to be made.
my point was that i think its a bit dramatic to compare the city you live in to the painting "the scream", because its not that bad.
people have ups and downs, but cygnus is talking like there's some underlying misery inherent in all of existence of mankind. (or at least it sounds that way(

i did not mean to say that 'requiring an answer' is a bad thing, i meant to say that requiring an answer is an answer in itself. there's no condition working against you - there is a condition that you've placed there entirely on your own.
heres an example , once you point at something in your living room and say, "that's a television", all of the sudden everything that's not a television will come into appearance. you know? its the same thing with "problems", "frustrations", "worries", "pains"
kids don't do this. they are so rich and full of awareness. theyre completely empty. theyre a void. they have it so good. look at the condition of any child, look at the void. have you ever seen a racist or suicidal 3 year old? they get all shit we think is "fucked up" from us. they copy our behavior models!

Cygnus, is right. In the philosophical sphere, there are no answers only questions, if the answers do not strengthen of fortify our existing beliefs we're not interested. The question is impotent. Unfortunately, humans don't think they're living unless they create a problem, therefore boredom is the real bane of mankind.
Oh and cx, you completely misinterpreted me. I do not want to live as other animals do - lol. It's about using the capabilities of my superior intelligence to its fullest, giving it it's rightful place.
It may seem preposterous, but human intellect has been so abused, distorted and conditioned, that there is now much more to learn from the instinctual life of other animals than each other.
In fact, I actually believe that other animals are more intelligent that human beings, because they use what intelligence they have to its absolute maximum, whereas the vast majority of humans use the absolute minimum of their intelligence.

i was thinking this the other day ...animals other than humans learn so much faster and can do so much more.
a baby squirel was running so fast around this tree as i watched an insect(perhaps 2 days old) flew past me navigating around and through hedges and plants at what seems like 30mph.(for its size it was quicker than a mig fighter jet)
animlas learn to fend for them selves and ....kangaroo roos ..even know to crawl out of the mothers womb and into her pouch with no help at all.
penguins marching across hundreds of miles to stand in a freezing void to hatch eggs ...
we are all animals ...but humans are the dumbest they destroy the planets environment.

tis why i dont pay multi national companies to abuse or kill them.
cause they all have feelings and great intelligence ..its just they ddont have comunicaion skills like us.
look at how a spider weaves a web ....who tought it?
or a bird how it knows to build a nest who tought it?
is it all built into the dNA?
