The 'kara' dude has been banned for causing too much
trouble. He/she acted exactly like a well-known
Jupiter/On/Whatever guy.

I don't care about her/his opinions but the way she/he acts.
The nice atmosphere went downhill for some hours and that
makes me sad.

kara was very destructive for this mb.

Thats dissapointing, phob...I seem much worse shite coming
from people that from kara & yet they are still here...

It is only a messageboard at the end of the day and it seems
kinda harsh to ban someone for posting on it...she didn't
exactly express undying love for Hitler or a liking for Cat
Sex and I thought she was pretty harmless....

But it's your MB so do what you like I guess...but just
thought I throw in my 2 penneth worth...

What was she saying? I missed all the excitement.

Cat sex? Ahem. Am I not welcome here?

Thanks for your input, but it was not her opinions
but the way she acted. I won't let this messageboard run in
that direction.

'she' was just another faking troll. one alternative would
be to let her continue for some weeks and see what happened.
a risc i was not willing to take.

if this character turns out to be "jupiter" would you still
defend his actions? i'm just curious.

oh, please let me know about the other "shite" you
mentioned. preferable thru e-mail. might be interesting.

Phobiazero: there were lots of bad things said from both
sides, from myself and lots of people included. Im being
honest, but it wasnt as bad jand makes it seem. Kara was
saying some outragous things that were sending the board to
hell VERY quickly.

offline Phobiazero from the next Xltronic (Sweden) on 2002-03-26 10:14 [#00143404]

I know there were bad words from "both sides", but it's
quite obvious to me who started this shit.

Now, let's get back to "normal", shall we?

what's going to stop her from re-signing as a new psydonym?
I've always been curious...how does this board track us
down? with isp#'s? does it say that we're "online" even when
were on, but not on this board?

offline jand from Braintree (United Kingdom) on 2002-03-26 10:23 [#00143408]

I don't really believe in pointing any fingers over "shite"
postings by people; it's only my opnion and why force it on
people?.....it all adds to the character of the board anyway
and without dissent/muking around/some off posts, things
would get really bland...

The most boring conversations are those when everyone agrees
with each other and we end up with 100 "me too" posts to
every inital statement...I like the fact that I don't always
agree with people here, it's stimulating...

By their very nature, Internet MBs are gonna have a high
Signal 2 Noise ratio and I've never seen any real way to
control it and trying to by OverModding/banning etc ends in
blandness...you have to take the rough with the smooth, I
guess...

Come off it REFLEX...you are a ADULT and if some words on a
MB can upset you that much, then you need to get some
perspective...

I'd understand if she had said something totally offensive
but I really can't find anything she posted that was...

Can you not remeber when you were banned? (& how you've now
been forgiven)...

I agree with Phob especially when he said:

"'she' was just another faking troll. one alternative would

be to let her continue for some weeks and see what happened.

a risc i was not willing to take"

This community had bad esperience in the past, clones,
trolls, etc... I agree to have a little bit more of
reliability e firmness than the past.
Anyway I hate the liars... we're in a virtual community and
it's important to have believable persons for avoid
confusions and frauds, imho.

looking for trouble.

Trolls are only Trolls because someone responds to
em...thats the whole point...learning not to fall for em is
part of communicating on the net...

And they can sometimes be very funny & amusing...

Look whatever jand..... it doesnt matter anymore. It doesnt
get me ANGRY it just frustrates me to see such a place go in
such a direction because of one persons lies. This person is
gone now. Its different when someone is trying to be nice
about their lies, if that even makes sense in any way shape
or form. he/she was just being foolish.

Jand: I was here a long time too before I got banned.. a
LONG time so thats different, I proved myself, redeemed.
This person could too, its not up to me so I wont go there
at all.

I say who cares. You can't worry about whether his/her
feelings were hurt. Other wise you'd have to worry about
everybody. And most people could care less about how people
a lot of the time. Maybe he/she can prove themself later.
Eithor they needed to learn to respect the community and I
feel that the only that could be succesfully achieved was by
doing what was done...

Phh well either way there is no more problem, sometimes the
unfair solution {which this probably isnt anyway} is the
only right one. I mean... look no more problem right? I mean
This person just kept on foolin' around more and more and
more...

hmm..there is something I dont get..how can some people keep
all of those fields about personal details in the profile
NON PUBLIC..while I had to go in and fill every field
otherwise it wont let me in..
I that is enforced a bit more I think it will discourage the
trolls and such..filling in details..even if they are fake
(mine arent) would be unnerving if your sole purpose to get
on a board is to wreak havoc me thinks...

I thought the community had kinda decided for itself in the
"Phobiazero Ban Kara" thread and the consensus seemed to be
to let her live and banning was too harsh...

Oh well, whatever..."All these moments will be lost in time,
like tears in rain"...

prophecies...

She said:

..."A future alias of RDJ will be MSPV "...

..."Third disc of Astrobotnia will be remixed by afx"...

brrr... I thrill...

You can't just ban people who are "annoying" tho...it's just
too subjective; what annoying for you might be fine by
someone else...

I think you've gotta make the attempt to be fair even if it
means that sometimes you come across people who you
personally don't get on with...that's just part of life...
