that was one of the first 4 aphex twin tracks i ever heard. that, milkman , girl/boy song and alberto balsam were the others. I can't explain how it felt to hear those, and it amazes me i still feel the same way about them today.

Yeah, it's one of my faves...it's got a certain Glass like minimlism to the melody that contrasts so well with the beats...reminds me of raving to didge in sweaty clubs in 92...
I'd love a real amibent version without the beats...that would be real special...
How good would it be if Aphex went back and started remixing some of his old tracks...He's had a lot of success doing those Acid classics remixes and tracks like these would work just as well...

Yeah if he remixed all his old works...hmm that WOULD be cool....
You really think it would sound good as an ambient track w/out the beats....?
Actually now that I am listening to it again, yeah i also think that may be very sweet also....maybe slowed down a bit.

I love the harmonies in this track! and i think that the name gives it a little allure too. Back in my "most moving aphex song" thread, i chose this as "the most beautiful."
About digeredoo...i thought that it's a nice piece, but i feel that song got created by the discovery of some old digeredoo samples laying around on RDJ's hd (or sample bank) which made him say hmmmmmmmm.

Things like the MEN1 Remixes and BABY FORD NORMAL Remix...where he takes a classic Acid track from way back and updates it...
"Innovations in the Dynamics of Acid" was Rephlexs old slogan... theres an element of PH in everything rdj does really...

I'm old enough to like the old tracks but I'm young enough to also like the new ones. I think this is also the reason why most people who are into AFX are +/- 20 years old.
I think the main difference is that the old stuff is produced by analogue synths while the new stuff is 95% computer generated and therefore it comes across as "overcomplicated" to some people because computers allow more flexibility. The older AFX tracks have a special "aura" around them that compensates for the lack of computertechnology. Polynomal-C is a very good example of this IMHO

Yeah Jand, raving in 92, very amazing period... I remeber that polynomial-C was playing on an illegal radiostation. Feel a lot of nostalgia for that period
