I just downloaded all of the tracks for free

By using this

I just searched one of the EP titles there, and I found a
wonderful page with all sorts of links.

(Including Quadrange, and the Digital Exclusive)

The only one I don't have is 90101-51-6.

nice link, but I'm buying this anyway (well, I already
did!). I'm sure the search function will be useful when
hunting for live sets and such. In fact, I already found
Plone's supposed unreleased second album. Sounds like Plone
at least!

Perlence range 7 is still the best thing to come out of this
EP. Perlence is one of those tracks which needs to be as
long as possible so that all the best beats are extended as
well :).

Has anyone else noticed that the Warp release # for this is
333A. Does that mean that we still have more remixes to
expect? That would be ridiculous, but I'm not complaining. I
guess that this is what we get after a 3 year hiatus.

I think that in the future, instead of making a greatest
hits, they should release all the 2005 set, 2008 set, and
other good sets in full resolution in some sort of double-CD
pack. That would be ace.

Although I agree that the length of Perlence Subrange 6-36
is not justified by any internal development, I think the
track itself is pretty nice and suitable for some relaxation
sessions. Let's put it this way: if the alternative had been
five new 10 minute tracks, that would've been great. But if
the alternative had been just a shorter version of the same
track, I think I would've protested: it's good to have at
least one track that doesn't feel too short, no matter what
the circumstances... But yea, don't go in expecting much in
the way of dynamic changes.

Overall, I really really like most of these tracks, and I
think that it all makes sense now, for me, the whole deal,
the whole release scheme... There really was no other way of
handling this generation. It works really well, in the end.

My favourite tracks here include Perlence Range 7, Perlence
Subrange 3, 9010171-121, Perlence Losid 2 & Notwotwo.

Yea, so I guess this could almost have been called Perlence
EP - those remixes are the ones that stand out for me, at
least.

Next I'll go back and listen to the quaristice special
edition and see how things pan out. Maybe the perspective
will have changed. Anyway, this EP is such a good deal
considering the price. But I hope it's the last variation on
these themes, I honestly don't know where else they could
take it from here...

Regarding Perlence subrange 6-36, I do have to say that this
is the best format for them to try something like this. It
costs the same as the other tracks for nearly an hours worth
of music. A lot of drone and minimal ambient stuff that is
released on CD would be just that track, maybe one
shorter one, and would cost $20+ plus shipping. There is
some drone stuff out there that doesn't even start to become
audible until several minutes into the track.

It is a progressive approach to releasing music, when you
consider that CDs are priced based on run time, rather than
what is happening in the music or how much work
went into making it.

Not that the better drone stuff doesn't get a lot of work
put into it, because it often does. Aube recording
flourescent lights and CAT scan equipment, or Jim O'Rourke
recording an orchestra just so he can process it down into a
drone.
