purchased an xbox 360 last week in preparation for this,

midnight on monday

I don't own either system, so I'm hoping Rockstar will
eventually release the game for PC.

hopefully we won't have to wait as long as we did for san
andreas to reach the PC.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, and to make matters
worse, I've heard rumors that Rockstar has no plans to make
a PC version of IV. :( I'm hoping that info is incorrect.

Sorry to be boring. Everything looks so fucking detailed
it's amazing, but wont the squashing people with stolen cars
be tainted with awfulness if its too real. Like after a
weapons-cheat-on street masacre, the perfectly rendered dead
children heaped in the road might take the fun off

Black Tuesday, the day the planet's infrastructure
collapses.

Ampi- even though the mood and look is more realistic, I'd
say the game is still too stylized to be truly disturbing.
It's not Soldier of Fortune level violence, and there's
never any children or tards or cripples or expectant mothers
or puppies.

Nay, on the contrary I think it will be quite enjoyable
running over healthy adult males and watching the Euphoria
physics engine work its magic as they flip over the hood,
rebound off the roof of the car and land headfirst into a
trashcan so you can put the car in reverse to back over
their head with a satisfying jolt. Life is beautiful.

hehe. i've never found the missions of gta entirely
exciting. i just do them to open up more stuff and finish
the game. the true fun of the games is just roaming the city
and piss farting around with the cops.
quite jealous of all ps3/360 owners.

I got it for my 360 instead of my ps3 because
they were sold out on the ps3-version. since my
360-controller is at a buddies house atm, I thought 'what
the heck' and bought another 360-controller as well.

LOVE IT. The graphics are a bit rough around the edges but
the art direction is perfect, they nailed the atmosphere,
that's what makes the game for me. The weather effects, the
dynamic lighting, the filters, great mood and I love the
autumnal setting (I wonder if it changes seasons?). I was
strutting through the park at 3AM, rain pissing down, mist
rising off the grass, some chick walks by talking on her
cellphone, I eavesdrop for a bit and decide to light her on
fire with a molotov cocktail, then I turn around and look
across the water, the towering buildings reflecting off the
harbour and their silhouettes dotted with lit windows and
framed against the sky and the flashing lightning, my Jean
Reno shades that I bought for 12 bucks mirroring the street
lights... excellent.

The gameplay is largely the same old thing, but the added
details and fun physics make it more fun. Never gets old
carjacking a fool and he gets his jacket caught in the door
and you drag him half a block until he smashes his face off
a fire hydrant. Also pretty shocking when I hit a tree at
200km/h and I shot out of the windshield and flew about 40
feet.

The shooting and fighting is so much better but the
driving feels terrible. Hopefully I'll get used to it
because its really dragging me out of the game. I've spent
most of my time playing multiplayer though and I have to say
it is absolutely fucking amazing. Any 360 owners with the
game who fancy a match my ID is Indexical.

There's supposed to be a Ricky Gervais stand-up act on TV, I
haven't caught it yet. There's so many meticulous details in
this game, it's insane.

as i was landing a helicopter near the statue of liberty, i
just missed landing on a pedestrian. the pedestrian froze
and stood still staring at the helicopter, dropped his
(mcdonalds style) carton of coke and legged it away. i
couldn't believe it. that's my fav+ moment.

This is the first time I would consider buying a PS3.

I'm sure it's gonna rock big time. But there is some level
of scariness in the fact that all the reviews have been so
positive. I mean, what if EVERYBODY IS DUPED? Like in "They
Live"??
