I have realized that LP5 is the quintessential Autechre
record.

Autechre IS LP5.

I don't feel like giving arguments.

completely agree, its still an untouchable masterpiece for
me. So profound you don't want to over listen to it. and
later albums were mostly to make money just like aphex twin
and most others.

For me, it's the best after Untilted:

1. Untilted
2. LP5
3. Quaristice
4. Confield

Dunno how to rate the others...

Agreed. Followed by a razor thin margin by ep7.

Anyone who disputes this has feet for ears.

LP 5 is some of their best sequencing and best from an
electro/synthcore standpoint.

from a texture, processing & drone standpoint its draft.

a classic sci-fi futurism analog heaven sp it is tri rep++

a sketchbook variety of familiar styles is quaristice

a hardfloor garage drum machine album is untilted

confield is, confield. i don't even know what the words are
for it. it is almost like applying the principals of ambient
music to tones and beats. the beats are so sparse but
decisive. the programming feels as organic and expressive
as something by satie, particularly talking about Cfern.
cant say enough good things.

anyway i wouldnt want to be without any of them :P

duh.

well, most all encompassing of their works. i still think
confield is the best.

i look upon their discography as a whole body of work where
each is its own section of the ae universe, and dont really
feel like singling out.

however uviol is my favorite piece by them, and one of my
favorites of all time

your realization is wrong.

the only thing i am sure of is that autechre certainly isn't
untilted nor quaristice.

draft and lp5 are their best ones, i think. they just
completely nail everything great about electronic music.

My realization is not that LP5 is their best record, but
that LP5 is the best representation of what Autechre is all
about. LP5 sounds most like one of their live sets.

for me it's the pivotal album between their normal and
abstract stuff
