really?
Ok, I am stuck on the part where you have to jump over the lava while shooting the switches to realease the pulley sytem in order to shut down the second water pump. Is there an easy way to do this? I am using an enchanted sword that has been reforged using dragon blood and unicorn blood at a 40/60 ratio while using the power gauntlet of time and husbandry to slow the flames down and to initiate the magic breeding dance of the ruby wizard. I think I am probably missing one element.

Two things, actually. The ratio of the sword should be 45/55 (but I think you can still do it with a 40/60 ratio), and you're probably still missing the Lich Cloak of Transfiguration. It's really easy to miss because opening the passage to it requires a specific walking path, and one wrong step will cause the sequence to start over. Head back to the start of the winding catacombs that lead up to the magma chamber, follow the left-most path until you reach the brazier with blue flame, that's the tip-off. Once you reach that brazier, back-track exactly 6 spaces and face the wall to your left. Examine the wall, and use the Eye of Argonus that you got two stages before on it, and it should open to reveal a secret passage. At the end of this short passage is a chest containing the Lich Cloak of Transfiguration. This will allow your character to become temporarily ethereal at the cost of 90% reduced physical damage dealt (magic users will notice no reduction in their abilities). While ethereal, you'll be able float over the lava right up to the switches, instead of having to time your jumps and ranged-attack properly, which can be a royal pain in the arse.

I believe the golden dragon eyeballs are essentially potions which restore full mana, so they are quite useful for the magic user. If you find you rely more on the arcane arts than brute strength, I would say pick some up. Judging by your gear, you're more of a swashbuckling archer than a wizard, so I would leave the golden dragon eyes behind. However, I have heard rumors that, when combined with a Heart of Griffin, and a Scorpoid tail stinger, the golden dragon eyeballs can be used to summon a Chimera to help you in the final battle. I was never able to test this theory because I had consumed all my Hearts of Griffin in order to boost my vitality and strength against previous bosses.
I was never able to find the horn of Little Jimmy Crankie, but it's supposedly especially effective against the final boss, who is "in a very strange place right now." Let me know if there's anything to that, will you?

I went in using the horn of Jimmy Crankie and ended up getting some fandabbiedozie in my eye. Took me an age to work out that I acctually needed to use the hat of Nicolas Witchell and the cloak of Noel Edmonds and then I landed some Swap Shop Weather in the asses of minions of Johnny Ball (who does reveal all, later)
