She should have known better and respected the country's
religious adherence. I see the article mentions someone
trying to defend it by saying it wasn't a pig or a dog, but
they've missed the point entirely.

I like how they had to include that candid shot of the
bear.. But yeah, that was a pretty careless thing to do.

"one teacher was angered"
What a cunt.

I'm so glad to not live in a country so strict.

Surely it's the kids at fault, they called the fucking bear
muhumous, what if she'd hanged all the kids as an example to
others about the dangers of idolatry? She'd probably have
been promoted.

No, she should have explained why it would be improper to
call the name Mohammed in that country--that would be
teaching them.

Maybe she should have done a little research before she went
to the country & disrespected their customs.

Maybe the fucking kids should have noticed daddy getting
twitchy and writing a shopping list with the items Parafin,
Matches and selected European and US flags on it every time
anyone not called Mohammed called something else Mohammed.
Maybe they could have put two and two together and came up
with 390 or whatever year it is they're living in.

What a stupid thing to do. She should get flogged when she
gets back home for being stupid too. She should have known
and avoided anything to do with Islam.

It's a question of respect, not maliciousness. Instead of
imposing herself on their culture, she should have been less
ignorant of their culture and respected their customs. If
she wasn't prepared to do so, she should have decided not to
go there. Simple to understand.

The woman clearly set out to make Allan, or Mohammed Ali, or
Buddha the Bear, whoever, the supreme being... she tried to
make him look like a bloody idiot by letting some
kids call a cuddly toy by one of his one million names. If
she gets whipped to within an inch of her life SHE IS LUCKY
and she should thank all religious people everywhere for
giving normal people the chance to know what it's like to be
mad.

It's easy to be badly satirical about it, but I'm sure if
you visited a Moslem country, you would not be so ignorant
as to arrogantly disregard their religious beliefs, despite
their apparent eccentricities. It's their country, it's
their faith--don't go there and shit on their customs. It's
really quite simple, however black you attempt to colour
them.

i am usually inclined to agree with this idea, but you know
islam has been culturally perverted into a lot of hardened
dogmas that are not an inate part of the text and religion
ostensibly at the centre.

i am not an expert on this, but i have had people more
knowledgable on the matter than i claim, for example, that
it is not an inherent rule that women need to have their
head covered, but rather a particular interpretation of the
Koran. Obviously one has to pick one's battles, but the
proportions of the act and punishment in this case are not
beyond the scrutiny of others, imo.
maybe to do so is to nonetheless disrespect the "living
part" (practice) of large chunks of many moslem societies...
i don't have a good response for that kind of complication
but... all the same...

If it was an honest mistake then I think a quiet word would
have sufficed.
Sometimes I think these things are dealt with the way they
are just so the locals have another excuse to squeeze off a
few rounds from their AK47's.

I don't think Hitler was voted in under the promise of going
to war against everybody and killing millions ofhis own
people, that came after. He probably said he'd tidy up the
streets and get the trains going, sure.

I'm not an apologist and I'm anti-corporal punishment: I may

Whilst we argue on the messageboards about God, Culture,
Right and Wrong, and Nazis, the youth of France, that seat
of activism, have taken to the streets and have knacked
scores of coppers, after some young people were
unjustifiably run over having run into the path of a
speeding car.

Are we irrelevant? Should we too be holed up in council
flats taking pot shots at rozzers? Should that be an option
for XLT v2?

You'll not be surprised to know that right-wing "newspapers"
such as The Daily Mail were screaming their headlines about
this, as if the woman had been innocently minding her own
business when some maniacal towel-heads plucked her from the
streets and cut her cunt off because their Mooslem religion
hates freedom.
