i often get pissed with the way films are promoted or
advertised , i guess i sometimes might have missed a good
film - but after i saw a stupid trailer or poster i didn't
want to see that film

I've been to the opening of the cinema festival concerned
with human rights and their protection, yesterday.

Citizen Berlusconi - 3/5. Berlusconi himself appears to be a
dangerous person, taking his place among other evil heads of
countries like Putin, Lukashenko, Bush the evilest. Is there
a place in the world where there is no bad motherfucker
leader?

Ukrainskiy Vybor (Ukrainian Choice) - 0/5. A documentray
about the so-called orange revolution which sucked to the
bone marrow imho. where did people see a revolution? It was
just a fucking PRformance. A flick showed absolutely nothing
new - it consisted of the various shitty stuff available
through the internet long before this film was made. I have
all that shit on my comp! They just compiled things
everybody has already seen even against own will. They have
even used shittiest anti-yanukovich flash cartoons in the
movie. Fuck this movie creators. I shouted the words of
suckage to this flick while the audience gave it a Standing
Ovation. I'd better watch "A Crowd Of Cowboy Homosexuals
Eating Pudding at a Texas Ranch".

Schultze Gets the Blues 7/10

The closest you'll get to a German "Phoenix Nights", this is
humour at it's most dryest, so dry in fact that you may not
realize it's meant to be funny.
The plot in a nutshell centres on a retired German miner who
plays the accordian at local musikfests, he wants to break
from tradition and switch his playing style from Polka to
Cajun, maybe not the most scintillating idea for a movie but
I really enjoyed it. It has superb characters although the
ending was strange and I needed to watch it twice before I
really appreciated it, don't even think about watching a
dubbed version.

urban legends (2) - 1½/5 (no comment)

monsters inc. - 3/5 (too brutal for my taste, but it made me
cry a bit as well; just as the engineers intended)

Cutie Honey - 5/5 (Hideaki Anno's superwoman supercheesy
hyperactive comedy spectacle, HIGHLY recommended!)

yeah, i tried to do so but the stupidity was overwhelming
though, heh.

i compared it to another film from the 60s [50s ?] which i
saw in two versions. then the remake was almost as good as
the original. can't remember the title, there were some
mysterious children with flashing eyes and mind power,
killing people - Village of the damned ? Damned village ? i
dunno
