I only saw one film at the cinema last year, and that was I,
Robot. That was 2/5. I've not seen any this year.
I'm only posting this so I can say I've posted in this epic
thread.

The Village - 3/5

finally saw it and i found it suprisingly average. i
figured out the 'twist' about half way through. the rest of
the movie is not that engaging. the "twist" is getting a
bit stale for M Night i think. he needs a new trick!

oh man, i absolutely love Kikujiro. if you are a Takeshi
fan, i recommend this one for a second viewing. It really
grew on me the more i watched it. it is just so GOT DAMN
heartwarming!

The problem I had with it was that once they had been to the
mother's house, it kind of lost it's direction and impetus.

Speaking of twists, I watched Kind Hearts And Coronets last
night. That film has a twist (though perhaps it's more
accurately described as a sting in the tale) that is very
simple and quite obvious in retrospect, but is 100%
guaranteed to put a smile on on anyone's face.

thanks for the heads up, i've never heard of Kikujiro before
and i'm a big Kitano fan, Hana-Bi and Dolls are two of my
favourite films of all time. Kikujiro looks excellent from
what i've just read about it.

I saw this horror flick with sarah michelle gellar (Buffy).
it involved japanese people and cut-n-paste of every
possible horror flick cliche. (the only thing missing was
the unnecesary nudity wich made the film worst)

WORST MOVIE I'VE SEEN IN A LONG TIME.
