Masami Akita (Merzbow) + Russell Haswell = Satanstornade!
anyone looking forward to this Warp release? i find this
stuff so satisfying to listen to, it's like the darkest shit
from Hell i've yet heard, even bests Confield in this
respect, damn i can't wait, so fuckin awesome dude.
Warp records with one new sample
Russel Haswell previous album with samples

i'm not sure what to say about this really. it is just
taking the piss? or is it pure genius? the sunshine track
(which i gather goes on for about 20 minutes) sounds...
err... a bit mad. but quite good.
make your own mind up folks.

i dont know... i listened to that sample...

i found no aesthetic value in it (for me).

i dont know... and ill probably get flamed for this... but
there comes a point, when you must ask "do they have any
idea what they are doing... or are they just making a
shitload of noise"

like... on the one hand... anyone could make that noise..
and so its kind of like... what the hell, i could do that
easy. but then on the other hand, thats what alot of people
say about avant garde music, and avant garde is acctually
logical etc. you just need to understand it.

but i dont know... how much logic can be in this noise?

Im not making any defenitive statements... cause im just not
sure...

but aestethically, it did nothing for me

why this tehn fool?
well, zeus, Merzbow is beginning to be eaten up by
magazines, he's one of the few artists I actually respect,
now he's gonna be cliche thanx to the "satan" bullshit.

ie - i don't like it when something i like gets a wider
audience

but 4 years later....its a mess...idm is becoming
mainstream, and now maximal music is

translated: i fantasise that the music i choose to call idm
- because i'm eletist is becoming more popular and now
because some noise music i like might get a wider audience
i can't pose about beng really extreme anymore

when something turns really popular and cliché, it turns
MEANINGLESS!

IT WOULD BE SO FUCKING GREAT IF ..LETS SAY NINE INCH NAILS
FANS WOULDNT CLICHÉ TRENT REZNOR AND WORSHIP HIM AND WATCH
MTV AND VH1 ALL DAY JUST TO SEE HIS FUCKING FACE. GOD DAMN,
YOU MOTHER FUCKERS NEVER GET IT.

what makes you think many more people will get into merzbow
cos it's on warp - will this change the artists
it's crap that being popular changes anything - tell me why
it does - has afx changed - not at all...the mainstream
still regards him as a freak anyway
