"when something turns really popular and cliché, it turns
MEANINGLESS!"

meaningless to who?
meaning is in the mind of the beholder, therefore your
statement is meaningless to me ;D

When my copy of Satanstornade was delivered i was expecting
from what i heard, the "best album WARP released in 8
years". Sorry, but Satanstornade is shit. 40+ minutes of
white noise...? Id rather listen to my fucking dialup
connection.

If you do not like that it is your opinion and can't be
forced into the beliefs of others. This noise is more
complex then a modem but I don't know if they just hit the
record and go button on their laptops or stayed up late for
months working on it. This should not affect its artistic
value as audio. If it appeals to you it could be the best
album in your world and if you hate it the worst. Nothing
can be universally likeable I feel.

I like this album, I'd be disappointed if they spent 30
seconds making it but I still feel stimulated by this noise
and can listen into the deep waves to pick up many
interracial details. I like it but some wont. Beh.

I can make noise but it won't be the same and it won't
reflect the same appeal that I have for this recording. I
also doubt that I would be able to give it as much depth as
this noise.

I don't say that i don't like that album, but i just
wouldn't call it 'warp's best release ever'

i'm sure most people would choose another warp-release if
they only could keep one,

at least i would.. which one is a difficult question..

confield/LP5/ICBYD/SAW2 ???

would be a difficult poll-topic

i was being a bit sarcastic there

i like it as well, after i gave it a better listen its
really not just noise, it has some nice melodies and beats

but it is definitely not best warp release :)

Just didnt appeal to me. Its like asking someone what the
best Autechre album/ep is. You're gonna get some people that
thought Confield was better than say, Tri Repetae.

I tuned my radio-alarm-clock to static, so I don't hear
shitty music and I can wake up in a good mood.

hey what's wrong with that? I loved that show! ;-)

Never listened to merzbow... this thread doesn't make me
want to start listening to him either. Sounds like it's a
little too noisy for me!

i like the satanstornade album, I cant see myself wanting to
get a bunch of merzbow releases but I do like occasional
amounts of noise.

got it, listened a few times, it's definately not just
random noise but "noise music". they make music with noise.
