Pot legalization

what's your opinion on this?

im asking because it's been such a hot topic recently in
canada, the government is thinking about legalizing
marijuana. im not convinced it will happen though, the usa
are pressuring canada not to do this.

my opinion on this matter is that it's more positive than
negative. better quality, better control, and a shitload of
new revenues for the country.

hehe, no, it's not legal now, but in a few months, you never
know what they'll decide.

it's going to be decriminalized, that's for sure imo.

pot is one of the sweetest smells ever.. (good pot that is).
Cigarette smoke is about 50x harsher than weed smoke, stench
wise.

I'm all for it. There is a referendum on the ballot where I
live to decriminalize posession of less than 2 ounces or 2
plants for a first offense. It is just a tiny step toward
legalization, but I'll take it.

I'm surprised to see the referendum, this is an extremely
conservative area.

okay i'm sick of drug topics, i've begun to realize that
chemical use is just another moral, like how it's evil to
let your 16 y/o kid drink a beer, but it's fine to put them
on ritalin...
i just want to smoke my weed in peace, and i'm sick and
tired of topics that make the idiots (sorry, but if you're
against legalization that's what you are imo) bitch about my
drug use

ENOUGH ALREADY

"the day pot becomes legal in the usa is the day that I
start
growing weed in my front yard... "

why dont you start growing weed then so that it becomes
legal, since it will become legal the day you start.. :)

havent smoked in a while. atleast not in a month and a half.
dont worry, autumn is almost here and then there is not much
else to do... i prefer to be drunk in the spring/summer and
stoned in the autumn/vinter :)

legal or illegal,....who cares?

just buy your stash and space yourself the fuck out.

Nice thing about the semi-legalisation here is that the
coffeeshops that sell the stuff also hold pool and
soccertable (?)competitions.

I could grow it if I wanted to (and possibly may be), but
with govt regulated weed, the prices would drop so much
because the small time dealers could never compete with the
govt's mass producing of it.. My wet dream is to be able to
walk into a convenient store and purchase a pack of joints
for the same price as a pack of cigarretes today.

mmmmm....

no, it will NEVER be "legalised" in western society, and
there's a reason for that. the same fucking reason
everything else is illegal... because society deems its bad
for you. and take it from me, it is.

what scares me is the increasing child like attitude we have
towards.. well... everything.

i'm big scared, man. dope is so introvert, i.e.
self-obsessed. if we're gonna progress as a species we're
gonna have to learn to 'communicate'.

comprendez?

netherlands allready (practical legal anyway) and i count
them to be apart of the western society..

is there a valid argument for the illegality of marijuana?
of course it should be legal.

please see this info:

sp

very good information for those interested in the topic.
especially interesting and irritating is "the report the WHO
tried to hide."

cannabis is not introvert. that's just you and many
people's experience. when i smoke i find myself unable to
walk the middle ground.... it's either be stoned and hide
inside myself, or be high and be very expressive, indulgent
and drunk on the moment. the former is what i did years
back, the later is what i do now. it's only a matter of
balance, like many things.

offline afxNUMB from So.Flo on 2002-10-08 19:15 [#00396911]

NO, dont legalize it. Yes someday I might get some record
for it if I get caught(the first time nothing happened) but
hey thats the price you get for not being more
careful....people who smoke are more noticable to visual
things...

Back to what I was saying, legalizing weed is not the smart
thing to do. And the government here certainly wont do it

course, decriminalization is another thing, but I think all
you drug users just want people to accept your habits, which
neither legalization nor decriminalization will ever do

blatant echo - all the peple i care about have accepted my
"habit".

Lol, drug users, for some reason that's correct but when
someone calls me a "drug user" for smoking weed, im sorry i
have to laugh at their whole uptighness.

It's fuckgin marijuana.

In truth I think alcohol is more dangerous by fa than pot.
More agressive behaviour, overconfidence "yeah I can drive
no worries" etc etc.

Not saying pot is good, I just feel that most of the anti
popheads ive seen on the net need to take the pencil out of
their collective ass.

i simply pointed out that legalization of "pot" will added
beurocracy our country desperatly doesn't need.

btw: using "pot" makes you a drug user. And if you are
infering to my tone when I wrote "drug user", luckly you
guessed right.

I'll remove the pencil from my ass when you remove the drugs
from your body :) Neither will happen, so why don't we keep
it illegal and not add any more government to our
government?

maybe that makes too much sense

offline od_step_cloak from Pleth (Australia) on 2002-10-09 01:19 [#00397166]

please get all self righteous on me

drinking alcohol makes you a drug user
drinking coffee makes you a drug user
smoking cigarettes makes you a drug user

look, i dont mean to have a go at ya man ive just had this
conversation over and over...lol..

besides you never know, im not a very regular drug user, so
there's quite a realistic chance that i will remove the
drugs from my body.....

does that include coffee though ? :)

offline BlatantEcho from All over (United States) on 2002-10-09 01:23 [#00397171]

I'm not preaching, didn't mean to come off that way, just
sharing.

I'd like pot to be legal so our country could tax it. That
is the only benefit I see in legalization.

Is the beuracracy worth it? If the government can tax it
heavy, sure, if not, well, we don't need more government.
