sorry, pissed again! i seemed to have made 3 or 4 posts last night i can't even remember being on the internet, or going to bed, or getting all the change out of my pocket and stacking it neatly in seperate piles for different nominations, or knocking my tv aerial over, or leaving the side door open all night. i don't really care if pot is legalised or not. does anyone really? its not as if its difficult to get hold of, is it? |

Pot is a fucking plant people! It was put here by God! Nothing is safer, like alcohol(?).....yeah right..alcohol makes people's egos skyrocket, causing trouble, liver damage, the list goes on...and the government legalizes that!! Marijuana should be more legal than cigarettes, it's safer..sweeter...better... god....damn... |

Its should be legalizied because then booze would not be drank.Booze is bad people. More people die a minute from alcohol abuse than mary-jane.Thats because no-one has every died from using it,as there is no-way you can OverDose on it,scien"fukin'"typically it is impossible. Although it will,like aforementioned,never be legalisied until about 20 years from now.Thats ok for most people on here,as most of us have only just finished pubity.:) Give or take a thew people. |

There was a great legalize-pot rally this past weekend a few blocks from my dorm. All these happy people wearing leaves, selling hemp jewelry, protesting war, playing guitars and dancing, tripping over the ends of their large hippie pants - Just generally putting up a peaceful voice to the community. Certainly didn't look like criminals to me. |

That is the only benefit I see in legalization." how about basic fundamental rights? the benefit is justice my friend. what makes more sense, cutting down trees that take decades to grow back, or cutting down a cannabis field, a fast growing weed? hemp paper. all hemp products. i'd love to see potent marijuana legalized so i go get a bag whenever i need to and smoke at the park without worry, but more important i think is industrial hemp. the illegality of both forms is based on politics, not science. |

I so agree with you jupitah. I hate it when people who are using "drugs" say things like "it shouldn't be legalized, because most people can't handle it". Are you superior to most people? Can't most pepole get drugs anyway? Can't you grasp even the most basic concepts of our "legal systems"? |

our legal system defines moral rights and wrongs. Murder is considered a moral "wrong" so it is illegal. Non RX drugs are illegal as well. I understand the system well, I live in it. Now, industrial hemp is always hyped up as the real reason to grow pot. But you would have to smoke a telephone pole size blunt to get high off of hemp. Hemp legalized? If somone points out the benefits it has over nylon, and other synthetic fibers, sure. Put legalization? The only benefit, until the the US sees drug use as "moral" and therefore "legal" is for tax purposes. If my roads get fixed from doped up kids getting high, that is a real benefit, otherwise, legalization is just a buzz word. |

playing the devil's advocate here: - wont it encourage young kids to smoke weed (more so than now)? - will it enhance our problems with driving under the influence? - should it be only legalized in private places (houses, bars, cafés...) ou publicly? it's surprising lately how many public figures in canada are openly admitting they smoke pot (i.e. television personalities) since the debate got intense... |
