i've been playing 3/6 lately (notice edgar in my avatar, he
uses hella tools!) and what the hell, i think it's the best
final fantasy there is. Anyone else have anythoughts?

My God, no FF fan gives FF7 the least attention and gets
away with it.

Final Fantasy 7 beats FF8 hands down, except in the graphics
department, but that matters the least to you surely, or you
THAT shallow?

I'm not that shallow aboput graphics

I think Mega Man 2 is a brilliant game, and my life wouldnt
be complete without Monkey island 1

All those prior to seven are available on SNES right? If so
I'll hunt them down some day.

Isn't it kinda funny to call a game "FINAL Fantasy" when
there are a dozen sequels?

;)

It was called final fantasy because the first one was
supposed to be the last of squaresoft's games...

But the incredible success of that title saved the company
from bankrupt...

Anyway, DJ is right, no self-respecting FF fan can give so
little attention to FF7!

That's just the best game I've ever played...

Haha, the reason I haven't been on this site as much
recently as I have spent the last month replaying FFIV (2
U.S.). I just got to the moon and I'm going for Zemus!!!!

What a fucking amazing RPG! I think its one of the best
video games of all time. When I finish I am going to replay
6 (3 U.S.) just to get a good handle on which is really the
best. The newer ones don't compare! Although 7 and 10 were
fucking amazing.

some how i found an english version (probably a translation)
of a final fantasy 4 rom.
see, there's 3 ff's that are only available in japan.

i also found an american copy of kirby super star that i
bought for 15 bucks.

FF2 and FF3, which were Famicon(Nintendo) in Japan games
will be released either next month or March for the PSOne.

And yes, FF6 was my favorite one as well.

Now all I need to see is some screens/footage of FFXII,
other than just that teaser theatrical poster that was
unveiled last week.

FF3/6 is probably THEE most important work of Squaresoft,
besides Crono Trigger.

Fucking unbelieveable game with an emotional half hour
ending. I've never seen a better ending for a game. And the
simple fact that it was made back in the day still blows my
mind.

Final Fantasy 6 is the best of them all, what an amazing
game. I can remember the story perfectly even though I
haven't played it in years. Locke was so damn cool. FF7 is a
close second for the series... and then FF4.

But I'm lately the series has taken a dive... FF8 had
beautiful graphics and a great story, but MAN, the gameplay
was HORRENDOUS. The level gaining, the spells, it all
sucked. The enemies got stronger as YOU did... so what was
the point of even bothering to gain levels?

And the boss battles revolved around building up those
fucking limit breaks, and that's it. The last boss would
have taken hours to beat if you didn't use the limit breaks.
Stupid.

The Chrono series kicks its ass. Chrono Trigger is slightly
better than FF6, and Chrono Cross blows all the PS and PS2
Final Fantasys out of the water.

I used to have trouble doing that ''Bum Rush'' blitz. It
would reduce me to tears when I was at a boss and it just
wouldn't work. A damn wasted turn and lots of swearing.

I really liked the graphics, the characters, and the
settings and environments. It's the fights that sucked!

FF8 story wasn`t that good...

It was like a fairy tale...it even had a happy ending!

But I have to admit that it had very charismatic
characters...

Anyway it reminds me of a girl which insisted that I look
like Squall, even if it is not true, so it will always have
a special place in my heart =PPP

No, I don't think so. From what I've been hearing(pure
rumors) is that FFXII will somehow be connected with Final
Fantasy Tactics Advance....although I don't see that
happening.

I'll go hunt down the theatrical poster for everyone.

And yes, FFXI is the online one for PS2 and PC. A PS2
release is still up in the air due to lack of a hardrive in
U.S. and elsewhere. Although, a PC release looks rather
bright, but we'll see.

FF7 is the best.the story maked my cry the music the ambient
the characters,VINCENT,RED,BARRET,CLOUD. It's pure magic.FF8
is boring and lacks the carisma of FF7.
