Will be making a trip into a store on my birthday (7th Jan) and I'm going to be either getting:
FSOL - Dead Cities
or...
Plaid - Double Figure
I'm having lots of trouble deciding, although I bought the Isness recently and love it to death, so I'm on a real FSOL role at the moment!
They both seem like such good albums. Can anyone help me decide?

hmmm
well, ok first let me say, the Isness has no relation with Dead Cities in any noticable way really... I look at it like 2 different bands...
but that said, Dead Cities is just a masterpeice in my mind... and while Plaid is good, Id reccommend Dead Cities.
But yeah man... if its your birthday, splurg on both!

all i know is that dead cities is very different from the isness (but that you already know...), and that double figure is very good (even though i prefer not for threes)!

*Dead cities is worth it even just for the one song "Everyone In The World Is Doing Something Without Me"
I showed it to my friend one time, and she burst into tears.

although, Dead Cities is more of a summery album for me...
I listened to it nonstop this past summer, and it was great.
Yeah.
So...
yeah.

I tend to be a sucker for artwork and inlays.
Doesn't Dead Cities have like a 32-page booklet?

IMHO, definitely Dead Cities. That album (although obviously unrelated to Isness) is sooo great, so conceptual... That's a true masterpiece.
"I had killed a man. A man who looked like me."
creepy.

I don't seem to like ISDN from the samples I've heard.
Lifeforms is a good album, bit dated tho.
Dead Cities will be great I'm sure!
