This post will be rendered obsolete in about 24 hours when
everyone gets to see it. But I don't care.. Anyone else
going to an advanced screening tonight?

I might go Sunday morning, when it's quieter. Long film +
uncomfy seats + large crowd + noisy people/kids = arrrrghhhh

btw the length of the movie is 179 minutes, so yay 3 hours
again.
Couldn't be anything less since all 3 books are just about
as big and thus should all be treated with the about the
same amount of film

i'm a projectionist at the local multi-plex and the prints
came in last night. so one of the managers and myself
decided to screen it.

OH. MY. GOD. incredible, just incredible. one of the movie
review/rumor sites (coming attraction) had a brief review
that basically said "the special effects make episode 2 look
like it was shot in a barn with sock puppets." they are
amazing (the ents were great, but the background looked
really green screen -- and that's the worst of it, really).

i love it more than fellowship, and will be screening it
again tonight when the midnight shows get out. it was
totally worth only getting 3 hours of sleep before my art
history final ...

coolest job in the world.

it DEFINATELY has it's advantages, but the pay is a joke.
since i'm a manager, i got to see catch me if you can a week
or two ago at some meeting. very good as well. very much
so looking forward to adaptation

so clobe smith, this being the first negative thing I hear
about lotr2, the special effects in this flick are total
crap????? Ouch m8, i sincerely hope that the reviewer was
kinda picky.

i have no interest in seeing it whatsoever (after how boring
the first one was) - the only thing that made me through the
first one was the fact that i drank a bottle of merlot and
passed out about 1.75 hours into

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

books, we have to see it tomorrow"

I saw the first one 3 times and I'm gonna see this one
4.....!!!

To be honest. It was a midnight showing, by the time 3:30
had rolled around, I had had about enough swords and
shit...

But nah, it was really good. Picks up right where Fellowship
left off... like you went out to the lobby for a year long
popcorn run. There are some REALLY good scenes. Better than
Fellowship IMO. Golem is kickass...

Go see it.

just saw it!!

Its very good. VERY spectacular.

Gollum is indeed amazing - a very sad character. nice
interior monologue worked out as a "dialogue"..

I really loved when Legolas shoots one of the first
Warg riders coming down the hill, and then swings himself
onto Gimli's horse. the whole cinema went "WOW!" at that..
:)

the Helms Keep thing is immense. although I liked the attack
by the Ents on Isengard more.

that was amazing. helms deep was beyond impressive. really,
one of the best epics i've ever seen.
and to the naysayers who think it betrays the books in some
way: shut up! its a movie, the narrative structure is very
different.

well, it's safe to say already that this movie could not
have been brought to the screen any better. The finished
product on extended DVD is gonna be something to long for.

it was greeeeeaaatttttssssssss :-)

Although I did not imagine Gollum this pale, and skinny.

And the storyline was seriously raped, but who cares, it is
really devastating to see this movie ayway. Awesome!

THAT GODAWFUL MUSIC SCORE by Howard Shore.. its so

what the hell is wrong with the score??
i think the opening piece of music fits the movie perfectly.
