DVD Extras

*Nerdy Topic Alert*

I've been buying more and more dvds recently, and while the
extras come into play a bit when considering purchases,
they're not essential... but I have been pleasently
surprised by some. What's some of the best extra features
you've seen on dvds? Mine would include:

Lord Of The Rings Extended - The film is even better and the
hobbit documentaries are very entertaining

Evil Dead 3 Army Of Darkness - The director's cut of the
movie is sooo funny and one of the deleted scenes is really
creepy

Mallrats - 1 hour of deleted scenes and the best commentary
on dvd ever

Ghostbusters - The deleted scene from the park

Predator - The documentary (just for Jesse Ventura)

Best feature has to be the commentary on Evil Dead by Bruce
Campbell. He just takes the piss out of himself permanently.
Then you listen to the Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert one and they
take the piss out of him.... The deleted sceneson Natural
Born Killers are pretty good too.

I thought the outtakes from the Austin Powers 2 DVD were
funnier than the actual movie.

I'm still slogging through all the extra bits on the LOTR
DVD. At this rate I won't be finished before I go see the
Two Towers.

Yeah that is a good one. The Evil Dead 2 one is pretty funny
too, they're all in the same room and they just pick on
Bruce all the way through (again)

Easter Eggs are great fun to find but usually a bit of a let
down =o/ I always forget to check for them too!

I have the Predator special edition (2 discs) - there was an
earlier version released which was just the film on it's own
I think...

The Mallrats dvd has Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes, Jason Lee,
Ben Affleck amongst others... they just rip the piss out of
each other all the way through =oD

I like the Evil Dead baby at the end of the featurette. I
forgot about the Mallrats commentary with the totally
pointless option to watch them making the conmmentary. The
R1 Leon DVD has extras in the form of itbeing 24 minutes
longer than the version available here. That's good in my
books. The Boogie Nights Easter egg is pretty funny. If you
haven't seen it then I won't spoil it.

unsure - i mean, deleted scenes are deleted for a reason, i
guess

on the other hand, you get an insight to how a film is put
together, and the spinal tap outtakes are reaaaaaally funnee
:)

130? Cripes you have been spending. I have about 60 I
think.

I'm really into commentaries - I just finished watching the
cast one for LOTR - wasn't bad, but I like really funny
ones. The hobbits were good fun though =oD

I still have to watch any of the extras on Donnie Darko...

Natural Born Killers - Director's Cut on DVD; the deleted
scenes are pretty good, my favs are Denis Leary, the court
scene and the Hun Brothers.

The 2 disc version of TRON is very good...a great transfer
to DVD as well (the old TRON DVD was soooo shite...)...

And Pi's another good one....

I love commentary tracks...it's like getting 2 movies in one
really & it's surpising how much you miss sometimes...

Another good one is Blow, there is this feature - like Popup
Video - facts will pop up throught the move talking about
marijuana, cocain, the stars, behind the scenes ...etc.

I've noticed that I hardly ever view the xtra's on DVD's, so
basically I'm looking more at what soundoptions the DVD
has.
