who else here is not going to be doing anything this
christmas, no family get togethers,. no present under the
tree,. just yourself and a bottle of scotch, coke, or OJ, on
the couch,..

this is my first christmas where I won't be seeing my family
at all, and won't be getting anything, enlighten me as to
what this feels like anyone who has gone through this
before, Is it going to feel anywhere near as bad on the day
as it feels now?

my family have gone to Portugal for 5 months...

blessing in disguise as it means I don't have to do that
Xmas visit thing....:)...

Got the partners Mum coming over for Xmas day but that's
about it....just the way I like it...

Xmas on your own ain't that bad.... but don't visit me...

Had a guy stay for Xmas about 3 yrs ago and he ended up in a
mental hosp come Dec 27th, no lie......I shouldn't laugh but
it was so funny at the time...don't think he could cope with
staying up for 3 days running....

yes,.. but you've got a girlfriend right? (your "partner")

you don't need a partner to make you whole or solve
loneiness....don't believe that hype...

Ans Xmas on your own is just part of being an adult...it's
not rare....and there are always pubs etc if you need to see
some faces etc....

i think I'm going to NY to visit my grandmother who is going
to pass soon :(

My mum fly out there today, and she won't come home till
after her mum passes :(

that would be the worst christmas, though my gram has lived
a long time.

ok, sorry about getting all personal, but that is where I
will be for christmas

It's the worst thing about getting older; the people you
lose along the way....

look on the bright side refund... at least you dont have to
buy anyone gifts and all that nonsense..

you can go buy a bunch of cds and a christmas tree... and
wrap them up and put them under the tree to open on
christmas morning...

or if you dont have any money... wrap up a bunch you already
own...and then get really drunk and open them and they will
seem like new

or if youre really lonely..invite yourself over a neighbor's
house... dress up as santa and bring gifts and or booze and
insist they let you partake in their festivities

yeah, it's so sad to see someone who was so full of life,
just kind of crumble :(

My mum is very sad, she wants to stay with her mom until the
very end.

I try to be positive, that i have learned a lot from my
gram, and that she has raised my parents who raised me.
It's very weird, but a part of life I guess?

thanks for the kind words

Sorry for saying something stupid but I never did have a
year where Christmas is lonesome. If anyone of my friends
mentioned that this is the way they are spending Christmas,
I would bring him/her to join me.

This'll be the second xmas I won't see my brother for and
also I won't be doing my usual thing of touring my ex's
realatives' houses between boxing day and new year. Shame
really, that had become one of those, "Christmas things"
that you jst do, you know? Still, I'll go to church xmas
day, see my gran and spend the rest of the day down my
parents' house. On boxing day I'll be off to Jedi Chris'
house to "Test Drive" some of his new GC games :)

I'll burn V/vm's: Turkey, "Whine and Misisngtoe" and
Stuffing to MP3 player for the lonely drive home on xmas
eve. Should be good.

I feel sorry for anyone here who'll, (imagine me singing the
following tunelessly)"be lonely this Christmas.. etc."

Okay i think you should feel sorry for me, my birthday is on
x mas day.you could take the view of oh wow ur born on a
special day OR you can take my view of 'great not only is my
birthday on a cold snowy day invented to waste peoples money
and make fat buissness men rich BUT i also get to see none
of my friends for ages ( being 15 im commanded to be with my
familly at x-mas hols) annnnnddd i also share it with my
auntie! ( who may i mention is acctually the devil , and her
husband is a tosser so thats alot of fun)
so yeah .. it sucks ... christmas shouldn't really have ever
been invented it was all started by religious people or
overgrown cult followers ( TAKE NO OFFENSE PLEASE) as i like
to call them , and then exploited by people to make money
...
it sucks
but hey , i get presnats so i'll shush :P
cya

did you know the word 'sect' actually means group of people
debating philosophy (of religion)... not sure about 'cult'
that might be purely negative.

offline anon from ^_^ (United Kingdom) on 2002-12-04 07:09 [#00467747]

sect? yeah totally negative is kinda about right as to how i
meant it ... i'm really not all for religion ... thats why i
said take no offense please - incase someone was highly
religious and took offence to me saying all they're doing is
following some over grown cult

:D

I spent the last two CHRISTMESSES alone at home. My parents
just got divorced and my dad drove to his new Girlfriend.
Anyway, i didnt really mind, this gave me the oppertunity to
watch the PORN PAY TV channel...........that was great.

This year is probably going to be the same. Oh
well.........

I certainly won't be alone, my family is massive and close,
but it WILL be lonely. Generally though, Christmas is by far
my favorite time of the year.
