i used to play textbased games on dial-up BBS's in the early
to mid 90s.. a little bit of ANSI graphics but they were
basically MUDs

yeah well the books with numbers...
thats really not role playing...
its about really being a character, with loads of details on
ur background, thousands of points to put in dozens of
categories and the games(i played) are just awesome...how
about being a detective fighting against lovecraft's
creatures in the old london???
come on !
for most of the games, u need only sheets of characters,
dice (6,7, 10, 12. 20, even 100 sides :)
but i reckon the pleisure depends much on the story teller

i played "warhammer" a few years back, although i was really
into the model aspet of the game. i could never really get
into role playing video games though, just not my type of
game

I play D&D, and I probably will play it again sometime.
