RDJ IS TRICKING US.

I believe that he is. He's leading us on in saying that he
doesn't like ambient etc etc, but in fact in 2003 he's going
to launch SAWIII. It's just the way the Tewin's mind works.
Anyone can see that!

offline Zeus from San Francisco (United States) on 2002-12-02 23:31 [#00465913]

wtf?

he doesnt like ambient? see selected ambeint works volume 1
and 2.

and where did you hear he is doing a saw3? i highly doubt it

Personally I am hoping he just flips his style and goes full
blown pop. Singing dancing, feet stomping good times. Maybe
he will do old covers of songs from the 30's - 40's? that
would be pretty swingin

;*)

He stated in an interview a while back that he isn't into
ambient music anymore... but you have to take anything he
says with an enormous ten pound block of salt.

urgh... the whole point in creativity is to move on and try
something different, not repeat your 'success' because
you've found a market. if i see a saw III i'm holding a
vigilante burn your aphex twin records in truro market
place.

i think it would have the opposite effect, a similar effect
to when some pop star or actor dies, inflating the myth of
of the person and their talents

I'd love another SAW, If you can do something well i say
keep doing it. I'll buy it. I get annoyed when artists
keep changing their style completely around and it turns out
to suck

he is tricking us into liking any other music than his...
his music is pure goodness :)

if it weren't for other CRAPPY CRAPPY POOPY artists being
intimidated by mr. rdj... his music wouldn't mean
anything... but than again, you could call me a nazi and put
a pokemon poster up on my wall & i wouldn't mind, because I
love dolphins.

ironically, guys, SAW2 sold less (and probably still sells
less) than all his other major releases.

Well in his japanese interviwe I think he said that the
story about him not producing anymore albums was just said
for publicity...

offline uzim on 2002-12-03 13:33 [#00466724]

methinks he will release something new when he'll run out of
money or do another mistake (like losing another mp3
player...). -_-

apart from the remix album maybe, since it's planned... but
it's just a remix album...

before drukqs was released, saw II was the most succesful
aphex twin album to date in the UK

ok fine but i'm going by american sales cos more music is
sold in the US than the UK. sire did not care for SAW2 at
all, if joyrex were here i'm sure he'd say for the zillionth
time that after its commercial failure sire cancelled all
future ambient projects

anyway, rdj posts on this board but it's not like he's
particularly serious or thoughtful on here so i don't see
the big deal about us referring to him like he makes music
on some distant planet

RDJ doesn't owe his listeners anything. Neither does any
other artist. If an artist wants to stop making art, that is
their decision.

I think next album will be something competing with the
innovations of Gantzgraff and DYKS but mixed with piano
tracks.
