Ultimately you have to do what makes you happy and if you're happier without other people, then fair enough. I don't think that's weird...

I myself learned to cope (somewhat) with loneliness when I was a youngin, although I still have some troubles. Up until mid-way through highschool..i didn't have any friends, part of it was my fault for not being social. And now that I'm on my 4th year of college - I get to watch my friends "dissipate" again...so theres no winning at the moment...but oh well..

It's better to have a few close friends than a lot of not-so-close friends, IMO.

you can't count on others to help you feel less lonely.......tis a mistake.
only YOU can make yourself less lonely, if you count on others you'll only be putting a bandaid on a problem, not solving it.

you have to be at peace within yourself
if YOU are your best friend (honestly) then you are never really alone, because you have yourself to keep you company! thats not saying having others around is not equally nice, but you don't NEED others around to enjoy yourself, cos you're at peace with yourself.
people like being around people who are like this (have it together within) it's never boring just hangin with this type of person, one on one or in a group. and the reason is, because they are not emotional vampires.....like people who are too needy.
it's hard to explain in this type of forum, but believe me loneliness has everything to do with feelings you have within YOURSELF, not others providing something......but a lot of people don't see it that way.
too many people take take.....and never give......it's the takers that are lonely.

*slap*
seriously tho........think about it. why do you LET other people be responsible for your OWN happiness. thats just wrong. we have enough to take care of, i don't wanna be someones emotional blankie, i mean what a drag. PEOPLE need to lean on others at different points in their lives, nothing wrong with that.
however handing someone the reins of your life, to make you happy or sad or whatever is just nuts. eventually the person who you've handed over the responsibility to, will get tired and BAIL, tis a true fact people find out too late as the person's walking out the door.

i'm glad you understand what i mean. it hard to explain without being brutally honest.
=0)
it's just something that people don't look at from the OTHER side. i used to have lots of people who just FED off me, i didn't realize what was happening until one day i realized i was CARRYING all their problems on my back, i felt like a fool (and rightly so) i should have realized that these people wanted to suck the very life from my bones to fulfill some need they had!! i found my happiness again after shedding the DEAD weight that kept me down and very unhappy. it was hard accepting the fact that these "friendships" were nothing more than emotional vampirism.
