You & military training?

Have you been in any kind of military service? I did my
service about 8 years ago as a mechanic in the Swedish
airforce.

We learned a bunch of useful stuff there in those theory
classes. One was how to treat shock, only I've forgotten. I
remember warmth, rest and calming down the shocked person.
There's like 4 more things..

I was suposed to become this special city soildier but the
same year i was to do my service the goverment did this
budjet cuts on the deffence and that "Base" was shut down.
I didn't care one bit , i figured i should do it cause i had
nothing better to do after school but when i was let off the
hook i didn't excactly cry hehe!
Now afterwards i figured it was all for the best , my
training would have included a lot of climbing on building
walls and im scared of heights haha!

in switzerland the military training is something very hard

I got papers from Finland one day, so I changed my
nationality :)

Took me a whole 7 days to become a Swede. The only reason I
changed is because they don't let recruits near the planes
in Finland. Here we had to learn everything about the
fighters. Apart from the basic training, it was like going
to a job everyday...dressed in green :)

I was in the Canadian military for a day.(*) They showed us
a picture of a gun and said "This is a gun. We have three of
these".

Then we ate some back bacon and went home, eh?

(* no I wasn't)

The funniest thing during my service was when we were acting
as B-styrka (B-force). It means you are acting as the enemy
and get to attack the new recruits during their basic
traning.

They had their base set up in the woods as usual. We sent in
this guy dressed in plain clothes, with the machine gun
hidden under his winter jacket. The m45 has a folding stock
so it's really small.

He walked up to the closest quard post and said he had been
in a car accident down the road with his girlfriend waiting
in the freezing car. He had to see someone in charge asap.

Well, he got to follow one of the quards up to the command
tent. The quard walked in but he stayed outside. He then
picked out his machinegun and emptied the clip into the
tent.

The officers came charging out of the tent and recognized
him immediately. He just told them they were all dead :)

Oh the memories..
