EMAIL ???
That's so unbelievably cowardly. At least she could have
told you to her face. Oh wait no then she would have to
explain why and she probably doesn't have a valid reason.
grr

I'm sorry Nigel. That's pretty low of her. I've been in a
similar position, only it was over the phone. But that's not
as bad as an email. How cowardly.

the worst part is the pain doesn't go away till you find
another girl :(

buck up though m8, call her and tell her off, plain and
simple

Don't give in either. Even if she was all confused and
shit, and didn't mean it, fuck her, you don't need someone
to fuck with you like that.

You're missing out on other girls. Call her, see why, and
don't ever fucking talk to her again, you don't deserve
that. No one does.

offline LeCoeur from the outer edge of the universe (United States) on 2002-11-12 12:21 [#00438804]

btw......all this girl bashing is NOT cool.

we don't know the circumstances of what happened and why
(and i for one don't want to know details) but it takes two
to tango and UN-tango.....so lets give both parties the
benefit of the doubt!!

i wish you good luck nigel, and just an fyi - if you don't
want it to remain a EMAIL thingy, call her.....or tell her
you'll only talk to her about it on the phone. otherwise you
two will be sending emails back and forth and that IS not a
good thing.

you're prolly right, but I've been there too, and I hated
that pain so much, it just breaks your insides into pieces.

I won't ever let a girl do that too me. I'm not into
letting a girl appolgize for breaking up/breaking your heart
with an e-mail, them claiming to love you the next day.

Happened to me: while she was fucking a kid accross the
hall........ :(

worst pain ever, get your answers, and move on. Sorry about
being a jerk about it, I like girls

Check this then man. My ex after breaking up with me waited
about 2 weeks and then practically moved in with one of my
housemates living less than 2 metres down the corridor (and
yes the walls were thin). Tactful huh ?

Nigel: I feel for you mate, the same happened to me 2 weeks
ago with my gf of 3 years (well, it would of been 3 years
tonight...). Still, at least I got a phone call telling me
to check my email for the details. My advice? If you really
value her friendship- and don't want to just stay friends
for the possibility of going back out- keep it civil. Over
time you'll hopefully learn to just be friends. I'm hoping
it'll work out this way with my ex as I really enjoy her
company. If on the other hand, you did just see her as a
girlfriend rather than a proper mate (no shame in that -
I've done that before...) don't bother to hold back. Don't
be cruel for the sake of it, but don't have any qualms in
telling her how you feel about the way she treated you. I
hope you're alright and as much of a cliche as it is, time
does heal.

Lecoeur: I see little evidence of "girl bashing" merely the
bashing of the actions of a girl which is a different matter
entirely.

guys are JUST as big a pain in the ass. no gender has a
corner on that market!

Q - EMAIL is totally wrong (however i happen to know a lil
more about this relationship, started on-line, long
distance, etc... and i have to say i'm not too surprised,
but i don't think it was the right thing to do AT ALL).
sometime tho, when on-line communication or phone
communication breaks down, writing a letter or in this day
and age an email is the best way to express your feelings.

i just hope that he gets the answers he needs via the
phone.

Echo...hate to break it to you dood, but you'll prolly get
hurt A LOT through your lifetime, from all kinds of
relationships, it's part of life. the difference is how you
handle it and yourself, i say learn and NOT be bitter about
things.....what does being bitter get you......NOWHERE!

Shit, sorry lecoeur I retract that last statement, I hadn't

well, what I did once to express my feelings to a girl was I
wrote a letter, and read it to her over the phone...

I'm not bitter anymore, I know what you mean, but the pain
is a reminder.

I now can really only accept a girl simply saying, listen,
things have been great, but this doesn't work for me
anymore.

Moving on is fine, abandoning someone, via e-mail, or
anyway, is low low low, and that pain festers, and bottles
up.

I've always been the guy to just shut up and take it, but
you got to tell her how much it hurts, just so you know she
knows. Be honest, don't be a prick, just be honest.
Hopefully it won't build inside you till you break :(

thoughts are with you man, take care.

Plus I did fucking nothing. I just tried my best to ignore
them while trying to cope with my intestines perpetually
being shreaded and my heart just .. not being there. Oh and
typically there was no good reason for the break-up too and
being stupid fucker I am I fall in love WAY too easily so
pain gets squared. Bitch.

my mate was going out with a girrl and she stopped talking
to him and ignorring him, then one night at a parrty he
walked in on herr kissing this otherr lad.
the werre two of my best frriends at the time so it was
harrd, and i think shes grreat i love herr to death but when
it comes to guys i don't mind saying she is a bitch. shes
one of them people who has to have the exitment of going out
with someone renued all the time, and she can neverr not be
going out with someone, yet she herrself can't handle
getting dumped.

Aw... What does she think she is? Dumping you via E-mail??
that's the most (errr...) chickenish thing i've ever heard!
But I'm sure that the reason was something other than
another guy... I bet she blamed the distance betwean you,
right? Long distance relationships simply don't work out at
this age. Go get yoursef a nice looking local rebound and
have a good time... That will definently get you throug this
more efficently than other methods (at least those I've
tryed).

no worries Ceri, but it's not just whats said on this
particular thread that makes me say what i said!

this MB is predominately male, so therefore it's from THAT
point of view that ideas are expressed and shared. i just
want to give a FEMALE perspective because i have some
experience with that, and some guys are WAY WAY WAY off base
with girls.

again.....very rarely does it just come down to ONE person
doing something that leads to a break up. and i can tell you
that COMMUNICATION is a major component to lots of break
ups. i think the fact that she send an EMAIL is very telling
(and cowardly). tells me that communication has broken down
completely.....and thats a serious problem.

i have a long distance relationship, and we stuggle with
communication issues, and we have just committed to making
this relationship work! it's not impossible, just requires
more work than an easier local relationship. but for me it's
more rewarding, and very much worth it to me!
