we all know the obvious look of 'rap'...which is baggy
pants and maybe a jersey or two..with like runners and
necklace / backwards cap. some times sweaters w/ hoods.

what would you is...or could be the look of electronica...or
IDM. also, if you were a desginer what would you make?

i have the tendency to wear baggy pants, jeans, and cap,
pullover & shirts by Drunknmunky. i also wear white Etnies
sneakers.

but i would assume that one who is an IDM follower would
dress in an attire as a skater, raver, & rapper combined.
hence, the IDM follower could be considered a "skraper!"

yeah! people who listen to IDM are "skrapers"...

offline pachi from yo momma (United States) on 2002-11-11 00:26 [#00436356]

but then again, having an IDM clique could be considered an
oxymoron..

I suppose i look pretty techno, actually.
Black shiny pants, darkblue "sketchers"-ish shoes, thin
khaki-colored hooded shirt and a large green parkas over
that.
Add my silver philips headphones to that.
Mohahaah..

I wear bland old navy polo shirts and bowling shoes. and
blue jeans. actually it changes from day to day.

some guy at HEB a couple weeks ago actually told me I looked
like shaggy from Scooby Doo. true, I hadn't shaven for a
week and I have the long hair look.. I mean my family's
told me that jokingly.. but sheesh, a supermarket employee?

I find that I have better things to spend money on than
clothes. It end to just wear casual clothes to bum around
the house/go drinking in. That said, I do have a few nice
items of clothing & a couple of good pairs of shoes and I
have a 3/4 length leather coat on the way.

...and you can't afford a PS2?

I noticed on your website that you reviewed Blackalicious'
new album. I saw them live last week, I was on the guestlist
and had great (not to mention cheap) night :)

I think if you are into IDM your more likely to have your
own individuality and not worry about conforming to a style
forming around IDM. I wear either a long black trench coat
or puffy black/gray petroleum coat, some alternative T-shirt
and black trousers/jeans/combats. I have long hair atm.

I´m quite ordinary dressed. But I do have a predilection to
hood sweaters. :) And I just can´t walk around in dresses
and high heels, but that´s only because I don´t feel
comfortable about it.

I think it´s good that nothing but the music matters.
Somehow I feel it´s so immature to be dressed up as
something, as some other subcultures do....

So thats why I have baggy army-pants with lots of pockets.

whatever...
i prefer wearing black or purple tops, and black trousers;
if it's summer and i wear t-shirts, i'd wear a pendent too
(looks approx. like this one)
i don't always wear that, but that's what i prefer.

and it has no meaning at all _ i'm against choosing your
clothes, habits, etc. in order to show your belonging to
some group/community..

i hate this 'rap' look/attitude/even language.
they think they're so cool, to me they just look ridiculous.

They do look funny. And I mean as in ha ha, not strange.
Especially the 14 year old kids who wear black Marilyn
Manson & slipknot hoodies and have horrible, greasy,
shoulder length, dyed black hair.

And they look so evil, at least, thats what they want you to
believe.
I think its hilaric and it takes guts to walk around dressed
like that.
