Hehe. I think she is okay, but that may be because I'm too
eclectic for my own good. I find it hilarious how a woman so
obviously tubby can sing so openly about sex. Good for her.

killed or something

Anyone who wishes death on someone else with no good reason
is one evil fuck. We seem to have a lot of them on this
board.

I said I wished she was dead? nope.
Just said I thought that's what this topic was going to be.
You know, kind of like the Run DMC topics last week.

Relax, monkey.

however remain ugly, talentless and someone I'd like to see

talentless? who else can rap like she does on "lick shots"
and "work it"? she also co-producers her music, and she was
proven a successful songwriter years before her debut album
came out -- she wrote r&b songs for aaliyah and tlc, who
sold millions of albums (and not just to mindless mtv
junkies). whether you like her music or not, she DOES have
talent (and i'd say lots of it).

I find her rapping laughable and cringeworthy and her
songwriting skills bland. But I don't see anything good
about the artists you mentioned either so maybe I just don't
appreciate that form of music =oD

i guess not, but as i said -- you don't have to be a fan of
it to recognize that she does possess talent and deserves
her success. i can't stand sports (most of them anyway) but

I haven't heard this song, I haven't listened to the radio
or watched music channels in months. I'm totally shut off
from the pop world. She's got a trunk with way too much

I heard from news sources on Much Music that at a concert or
something she forgot the words to a bunch of her songs...she
started one...forgot the words...went to another
song...started then forgot the words...and then she forgot
the words to another....

im starting to believe all this yelling and 'ohh yeaa..uhhh
huhh...mm ..oh yeah...oh baby..ohhh
yeah...oooooooooooOOOOO...oh yeah..." stuff is so they don't
have to memorize anything. just scribble 10 words down and
then have some freaky 'oh yeah' competition at the end that
lasts for 10 min. yeah ... thats real talent...

Eh, it isn't bad... she's much better than most mainstream
rapper/rapperettes that I hear (rapperettes?). I always hear
nice little nuances in rap songs that get my attention,
little production tricks, that impresses me. Even with
Eminem (whom I HATE WITH A PASSION), some of Dre's
production sounds really neat sometimes.

Bombs Over Bagdhad is the best rap song I've ever heard.

all but 3 of his songs on his last album were produced by
eminem, and all of the eminem songs on 8 mile were produced
by eminem -- not to burst your bubble ;)

yea B.O.B. rules, it's one of my favorite outkast songs for
sure.

"what, you didn't know fat people had sex?"

Whoa, chill out. I didn't mean it's gross because 'fat
people have sex'. I was talking about the lyrics actually.

Specifically the line that goes 'something something, you
can go down south and eat like a vulture.' Or whatever. I
don't know the exact words. I think it's just tasteless and
bad sounding.

i see. you're right though, that song is especially raunchy.
i guess i'm numb to it, so much female rap is just sex talk.
a shame really. missy's rapped about other stuff tho, but
not often enough.

Missy Elliot is really good party music. I like "Work It"
but it has been played too much in B-town. She definitely is
a studio musician, but what's wrong with that? She creates
creative music and can flow. I think the most respectable
part of her is that she isn't taking herself so seriously.
Listen to her lyrics. She isn't Mozart, but so what?

The weight issue isn't really relative.

the Nelly Furtado remix of Get Your Freak on!, it's so
good.

out people she's got a good / unique style. New singles
good.
