i think it's all pretty stupid. how about points and status not being disclosed to anyone but moderators and webmasters? honestly, the people on here need to find other things to dwell on besides status and points and i think hiding that info from them will help them a lot. |

seeing as how the webmasters have the ability to change the definitions of status i'm sure they have the ability to hide status and points from us as well. |

mortsto-x: yep. 10+ posts/day is regular, 2/day i think is regular, less than 2/day is lurker.. recycle: what do you suspect is the reason? i think it's just something that seemed like a good idea when they created v5 but has unintentionally grown into something nasty. |

i like it now :) you can always look at the points if you want to know what the "old-style" status would be... before you only knew how much posts people were writing -- now, you still know how much they post, but besides you know how frequently they post! (yeah, maybe more than 3 statuses would be cool... but if it were too high, some would be tempted by flooding the mb, posting shit just to get to the top status... |

using only three "pretty neutral" levels is just a step in calming down the points hysteria. now you'll just see whether a visitor is a addict, regular or lurker. |

It doesn't annoy me. I just noticed it was different from the old mb. And it occured to me that I was regular, than all of a sudden addict, than regular and than addict again. It confused me, but it didn't annoy me :) |

points shouldn't be displayed cos it creates a class system and encourages an unhealthy type of competition between users that often results in senseless or repeat topics and messages. |

I like points... though it can be kind of annoying. But you can tell who's in it for the discussion and not the points, anyone who spams just goes on my mental ''ignore list''. Though really... there's nobody on my ignore list... :-/ Except Jupiter, who would type out 5 posts in a row that all said ''LOL'', but he's mercifully gone. |
